All my friends, settle down let me talk, I'll get more and more emotional. It is hard to believe my life between 22 yards in the last 24 years is coming to an end. I would like to thank all the people who have helped me in my life to get here. I have a list in my hand, please forgive me if I miss out on a few names. First, I want to thank the most important person in my life, my father, who left me in 1999. Without his guidance I wouldn't be standing in front of you. He said "chase your dreams, don't give up, the path will be difficult". I miss him

today. My mother, I don't how she dealt with such a naughty like guy me. She took care of me to be healthy. She started praying for me even before I started my career and I think those prayers gave my strength.

In my school days, I used to stay with my uncle and aunt as my school was far away. They treated me like their son. They gave me enough food that I can play well. My eldest brother Nitin, he used to tell me, I know you'd do everything right and I have the confidence in you. My first cricket bat was presented to me by my sister Savita. A Kashmir Willow bat. She continues to fast when I bat. Ajit (brother), I don't what do I say about him. It all started from the age of 11, he took to Ramakant Achrekar sir my coach. And my life changed. Even last night, Ajit called me and we were discussing my dismissal. Various things we agreed upon, my technique. I have had a lot of chat with him. If I had not done that, I would have been a lesser cricketer. The most beautiful thing happened to me when I met Anjali in 1990. I know that being a doctor there was a big career in front of her. But she decided that I should continue playing and took care of the children. Thanks for bearing with me for all the nonsense I've said. Thank you for all that you have done and it is the best partnership I have had in my life. Then Sara and Arjun who are two precious diamonds in my life. Daughter is 16 and son is 14, time has flown by. I wasn't able to be with them for the birthdays, annual days and sports days. Thanks for understanding all that, both of you have been so special to me. I've not spent enough time with you but I promise you the rest of 16 years and beyond is for you. My in-laws (Annabelle and Anand Mehta) have been supporting. I discuss various things with

them, we have a strong family and thank you for allowing me to marry Anjali. There have been a lot of friends who have supported me. Leaving their work and coming to bowl at me when I called them. I thought my career was over when I was injured, but my friends called even at 3 AM and made me believe that it was not over. My career started at 11. My brother took me to Achrekar sir and that is the best thing to have happened to me. Sir would be taking me on his scooter all over Mumbai to ensure that I get enough match practice. On a lighter note, he has never said well played to me so that I don't get complacent. My cricket started right here at this ground (Wankhede Stadium). The dream was obviously to play for India. BCCI was fantastic , they believed in me at the age of 16 years and selected me. I have played with many senior cricketers, thanks to everyone for helping me out. I see, Rahul (Dravid), (VVS) Laxman, Sourav (Ganguly), Anil (Kumble) who is not here and my teammates, you guys are like my family. It is going to be difficult without that dressing room, sharing those special moments. When Dhoni gave me the 200th Test cap, I just said, we are all proud to be here as a team and I believe that you guys will serve this country in the right spirit and to the best of your abilities. I believe in you and all the best for your future. Thanks to all the doctors, physios, without your special efforts, I couldn't have been fit. I don't

know how you all kept me in good shape. My dear friend, late Mark Mascarenhas, my first manager. Without him I couldn't have achieved all this. All those sponsorship deals etc.. Thanks for your support. I miss you. My manager Vinod Nayudu, he's more like my family. He's given me so much time leaving his family to work for me. In the school days when I played well, the media backed me a lot. Y ou've been doing that till now. Thank you to all of you, all those photographers. I thank all the people who supported me a lot. Whether I scored a 0 or a 100. I have met a lot of people who do all sorts of things for me, thank you for all that you have done. Chants of 'Sachin...Sachin' Especially, 'Sachin... Wow- what a speech. All these years people have made fun of his rather strange voice and the way he talks. However this speech was very mature with a very powerful voice. Little wonder that his beautiful wife couldn't control her emotions. We Indians should be grateful to this tiny man for having carried a large burden on his shoulder for such a extended period of time. Finally thanks to Moun Mohan and co to decide to bestow him the Gem of India.

His words came straight from his heart. His emotional rendering was palpable wetting million eyes. He touche hearts and melted the hardest. This was a poetry- a speech so sincere and so lyrical ...each word came out clear and loud...this humble great man never forgot a single soul that had touched him moulding his persona, building his character, shaping his game, standing with him on the pitch and off the pitch. He remembered them all and thanked them all for being with him. And now is a time to write his memoirs...right from the day he held the bat. There must be thousands of incidents that will make him open himself to the world, teaching lessons that made him the legend. the fun he had, the struggles he went through, the journeys he undertook, the saga of the man and the game. This will be an epic book- a bible and Geeta of Cricket....Let us hope he starts on this awesome mission soon...recollecting the moments and presenting them to us....making us remember for all the time and giving this to coming generations to draw inspiration and a key to success...

Vishvanathan Anand should be given Bharat Ratna first because Chess is an international sport but cricket is not any international sport,it is English Kabaddy.Less than 5% countries of the world are playing cricket.Indians are Boot lickers of British, they worship British people as their gods & their language as voice of god, they worship everything which came through their masters.English is not any international language,it is one of the 6 official languages of UN,Indias per capita income is mere 1300 $ in 2012, it is more than 40,000 $ in developed nations where education is based on mother tongue. All white & majority mongoloids learn in their own language hence advanced people, Indian & African slaves learn in their masters language hence most backward people & also known as tribal people

Man, update yourself. Chess is a board game, not a sport. Less than 5% of the countries of the world play cricket? Can't be true. More than a billion people are fans of cricket and the world population is around 7 billion. And even if it's true, than what's the problem? There are many sports other than cricket which are played in even lesser countries. English is the international language, besides being one of the official languages of the UN. South Americans and many other countries despite using their official languages are still backwards. Mongoloid countries have advanced with tourism and exports. They are now learning English. China now has English as a compulsory subject in primary schools. Even the Japanese, Koreans, etc are learning it now. They are progressing, and you are still busy with antiEnglish propaganda. Everybody should preferably know two languages, i.e mother tongue and English to communicate with people from other countries of the world. Learn to be open minded.

Gavaskar retired after scoring a hundred in the Bi-centenary Test at Lords. And, Bedi rightly commented that for a cricketer to emulate this feat of Gavaskar, he not only needs to score a century, but do it at Lord's and wait for 200 years! Gavaskar's timing and placement was as precise and shrewd as his straight drive. It was a heady farewell. Then Gilchrist retired. And he made it crisp sweet and precise as any lofted shot of his. It was pretty emotional. But this one stands out. His speech said it all. It was like any of his long innings replete with delightful shots of control and discipline, humility and honest expression of emotiona and a touch of unique greatness all over!

What's so special about Sachin? . . He was special @14. The whole of Mumbai knew he was special. He was special @16.India as well as Pakistan knew he was special. He was special @17. England too got to know he was special. He was special @18. Aus found out he was special. He was special @19. SA also saw he was special. A teenager still, He had proven himself in England, Australia & SA. Umm, special. He was special at the age of 20. NZ saw him showing his new specialty. The world now knew it. Only 23, He scored the most runs ever in a WC. Way before midway through his career, He had the most ODI 100s. Midway through his career, He had the most ODI runs. A short while later, Sachin had the most Test 100s. Soon, he got the most Test runs too. He bettered his own WC most runs record in 2003. He's got the the most 100s in WCs. He did what had been imagined but never done. A 200 in ODIs. He did what had not been imagined. A 100 100s. . . So, what is so special about Sachin?

Sachin Tendulkar retires- the man who fought a lonely battle for 1 Billion Indians for over a decade(90s), day after day, month after month, year after year, and game after game with utmost dedication, sincerity, and honesty hangs his boots. 24 yrs of consistent performance, dedication, and sincerity. What Sachin has achieved and contributed to the country is unparalleled and unprecedented. The rise of cricket in India and its stature in the world is largely because of this legend. Sachin's game united this nation of extreme diversity, a big feat in itself. I cried and millions other cried as it is hard to accept cricket without him, a void has been created forever and because we know humanity needs more people like him to inspire and show the path. Thank you very much Sir, I Salute, the country Salutes this amazing cricketer, awesome human being, and a great countryman.

I wish Sachin a very happy and comfortable retired life from Cricket. It was a good speech and there are a few glaring misses. Where is Vinod Kambli in all this celebrations, Vinod also was equally instrumental in getting those runs in 646 run stand & who stood by him in all his years,? No mention of Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri who managed his brand in media boxes. Finally, there have been a few more sporting greats than Sachin- Dyan Chand, Milka Singh, P.T. Usha, Vishwanathan Anand, who is still fighting to defend his title & has been on top his game for the past 25 years, Leander Paes- Olympic Bronze medalist & one of the leading Grand Slam winners of all times & finally Abhinav Bindra- India One & only Individual Gold Medalist in the Olympics. They won't get it because BCCI is run by Politicians and they want to ensure that they would milk this moment due to elections, but all the others are don't have this backing. These are individual sport players who have risen to the top by their own grit and hard work. Their parents have spent their hard earned money and have had no sponsors & God Fathers. Their achievements are stifled because the media wants to feed this frenzy. Remember they ran alone, while Sachin got a run, there was some else running at the other end to complete it. Acknowledge their contributions too!

Vishvanathan Anand should be given Bharat Ratna first because Chess is an international sport but cricket is not any international sport,it is English Kabaddy.Indians are Boot lickers of British, they worship British people as their gods & their language as voice of god, they worship everything which came through their masters.English is not any international language,it is one of the 6 official languages of UN,Indias per capita income is mere 1300 $ in 2012, it is more than 40,000 $ in developed nations where education is based on mother tongue. All white & majority mongoloids learn in their own language hence advanced people, Indian & African slaves learn in their masters language hence most backward people & also known as tribal people

Sachin's Farewell speech speaks volumes about the person he is!!! He is a true Humane and knows how to knit the social bonds in life and maintain relations so well with whomsoever he came in contact and who contributed for his well being and performance. He is a person with congenial temprament and always carried the team along with his humility and cool head above the shoulders. Indian Cricket must learn from this great person!!! Ram Arora

Sachin For me you are more human than Icon cricketer. Always your head is on shoulder and legs on earth. You are simple in all respects even after reaching such heights which is impossible to any future cricketer. I always remember your beverage advertisement with village boys. My sincere request with you is that society has contributed and applauded you lot, and give back something to society in any shape. We remember you for ever.

Sachin not only contributed for India's glory in the sporting arena but had taught a generation how one can be so determined to achieve the goal in life and most importantly how to be humble even at the peak of fame. As he pointed in farewell speech about his father's advise, he chased the dream and never tried shortcuts to fulfill it. That's the success of him being at top for all these years.
