Queensland Sprint Championships

Congratulations to our swimmers who qualified and competed at the Queensland Sprint Champs last weekend. Saturday - Macale swam his backstroke and freestyle events straight up. Macale did well to keep up the pace and to swim just shy of his seeded times. Danica swam freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke, receiving PBs in each event. Danica seeded 11th out of 92 swimmers in her breaststroke just missing out on the finals by 0.08s. Sunday Lochie swam freestyle and breaststroke, this being his first time at the Qld Sprints. Lochie achieved a PB in his breaststroke and was not far from his seeded time in freestyle. Unfortunately Jackson was unable to attend the meet on Sunday due to recovering from a bug he caught on the plane on his return trip to Australia.

School Swimming Achievements

Best of luck to our High School swimmers with their district carnival coming up on Friday 21st February. Fingers crossed they make it to Regionals in Caboolture. Good luck to those swimmers from Primary School who have their school carnival this Friday.

Kingaroy Carnival Results

The prediction was made at Club..... we were destined to bring home medals....and we did! 13 in fact and 1 age champion! The overcast and cooler day in Kingaroy did not stop our swimmers from achieving, yet again, great results. It was Darcy and Sebastians first competitive carnival in a 50 metre pool. Although they only swam 25 metres, the warm up at 7:30am saw them both swim multiple laps in the 50 metre pool. Darcy carved up the pool and at the tender age of 6 winning all of his races, and managing to break a couple of carnival records. Sebastian was close on his heels coming 2nd in all of his events. Kingaroy results we saw a total of 14 PBs with the best achievement going to Angelina with a massive 35.28s off her last PB for 100mtr breaststroke. Well done Angel! It was Lochies first competitive carnival in a 50mtr pool, but this did not stop him! Coming home with 5 bronze medals. Terrific effort Lochie. Jacob, Danica and Macale also came home with medals with Jacob earning 2 bronze, Macale a gold and a bronze and Danica with 2 bronze and 2 silver. Danica was also the 12 year old girl Age Champion due to competing in all 4 x 100 mtr events and scoring points in each. Well done Danica. Lochie, Jacob, Macale and Danica qualified for the Wide Bay Championships to be held in Bundaberg in March and we wish them all the best.
