Stick-Drop Test

Procedures:
1. Choose a partner. One student will be the test giver and the other will be the test taker. 2. The test giver will stand and release the meter stick for the test taker. The test taker should hold the meter stick with the 1 cm mark pointing down and the end of the stick should be just above the hands of the test taker. 3. The test taker will sit on an arm chair and put his hands out side the side of the arm chair about 3 cm. 4. The test giver should drop the ruler when the test taker is ready. 5. The test taker should clap his/her hands together and catch the stick as quickly as possible. 6. The test giver should record the cm mark where the test taker caught the meter stick. 7. Do the test three times and then calculate the average time for each test. 8. The test giver and the test taker should trade places and try the test again.

Hexagon Jump

Procedures:
1. Using athletic tape, mark a hexagon (six sided shape) on the floor. 2. The length of each side should be 24 inches (60.5 cm), and each angle should work out to be 120 degreees. 3. The person to be tested starts with both feet together in the middle of the hexagon facing the front line. 4. On the command 'go', they jump ahead across the line, then back over the same line into the middle of the hexagon. Then, continuing to face forward with feet together, jump over the next side and back into the hexagon. Continue this pattern for three full revolutions. Perform the test both clockwise and anticliockwise.

Waist Circumference

Procedures:
1. To measure your waist circumference, place a tape measure around your bare abdomen just above your hip bone. 2. Be sure that the tape is snug (but does not compress your skin) and that it is parallel to the floor. Relax, exhale, and measure your waist. 3. Note that getting your Waist Circumference will let you know if you are obese or not.

Zipper Test

Procedures:
1. Work with a partner to do this assessment. Start with the right shoulder. Be sure to start with a general warm-up. 2. Reach over your right shoulder with your right hand and arm. Reach as far down your back as you can (pretend you are reaching for a zipper on your back or that you are going to scratch between your shoulder blades). 3. Reach behind the low back with the left arm and then try to reach up and touch your right hand. Reach as far as you can with both hands, trying to overlap your hands if possible. 4. Your partner checks to see if you can touch the two hands together. If the fingers of the right and left hands touch together, you record a Y or yesthat you can do it. This is a good indicator of shoulder flexibility. 5. Repeat with the left shoulder.

Stork Test

Procedures:
1. Remove the shoes and place the hands on the hips, then position the non-supporting foot against the inside knee of the supporting leg. 2. The subject is given one minute to practice the balance. The subject raises the heel to balance on the ball of the foot. 3. The stopwatch is started as the heel is raised from the floor. The stopwatch is stopped if any of the follow occur: the hand(s) come off the hips the supporting foot swivels or moves (hops) in any direction the non-supporting foot loses contact with the knee. the heel of the supporting foot touches the floor.
