Report on Comissioning of 3MW QNP steam turbine.

Day 0 (30-12-2014 Monday ) Arrived at Hunza Sugar Mill at 6:00pm. Day 1 (31-12-2014 Tuesday) Went on site to inspect the installe steam tubine with Chinese Team accompanied by Mr. Rana Jameel and Mr. Javed. The Chinese team inspected theinstalled turbine and identified following installation errors the oil pipeline and identified a fault with the installation with HP ( high pressure ) and LP (low Pressure ) injector oil pipeline. The installation team agreed to change the position of oil pipeline according to the given drawings. According to Chinese engineers the condenser was not at the right height Chinese engineers asked for the installation data from the installation team which was not present in written form. Chinese engineers asked to open the steam turbine to take the data themselves. The installation team opened the steam turbine so Chinese engineers can get the data according to the given data sheet. The Chinese team identified that there are errors in the alignment of turbine. The company personnel asked the Chinese team to make a schedule and to give a timeframe. Day 2 (1-1-2014 Wednesday ) After first day inspection of steam turbine the Chinese team gave a schedule for work to be done which was emailed to Mr. Javed and also is attached with this email. The installation team satisfied the chinese team concerns about the condenser height and both parties were satisfied. The Chinese team checked the clearance of front and rear bearing and identified error in the clearance of bearings. The bearing casing was removed and repaired according to the given data by company and both teams were satisfied.

The Chinese team checked the level of the turbine and found error in the installation level of turbine. Two kinds of level measuring instruments were used to measure level but the level was still not according to the company standards as mentioned by the Chinese team. The installation team still maintained that according to them the level was perfect. Day 3 (2-1-2014 Thursday ) The Chinese team asked for time to confirm from their headquarters about the level of steam turbine and suggested to reinstall the turbine. The Chinese team said that the level of turbine is not according to the standards for commissioning and they will not go further with the commissioning until turbine is reinstalled. The Chinese team went to have a meeting with Hunza Sugar Mill personnel to which we were not invited. The Chinese team still maintains that the turbine is not installed according to company guideline and they will not go further with commissioning process.
