Ali Campbell - PA Requirements


A professional public address system is required comprising of the following:

SYSTEM
A true stereo system actively crossed four ways. Speakers and amps are to be of a reputable manufacturer, cabinets to be placed discreetly as to totally cover the audience area. Flown wherever possible and sight lines to performance area to be kept clear as much as possible. 110dba weighted will need to be comfortably achieved at all areas. Preferable makes are: L Acoustic V,DOSC / dv,DOSC, D&B, Meyer, QSC, Lab Gruppen & Crown.

FRONT OF HOUSE
To be positioned in line with centre of the stage. No more than 60 metres from stage. Snake must carry at least 48 lines from the stage and have at least 1 dedicated analogue return line from FOH to carry a switched, talk to stage microphone. This should be connected in to the stage patch so that it is available on input 48 of both FOH and Monitor Consoles (see input list). The desk must have no less than 48 mono inputs and 4 stereo (see attached channel list), four band parametric EQ, and at least four auxiliary sends. Eight sub groups and at least eight VCAs. Preferable makes are: Midas H3000, DigiDesign Profile, Yamaha PM5D-RH. The console make and type should be confirmed in writing no less than 14 days prior to the date of the performance. The promoter should also supply a qualified and experienced technician, fully versed in the use of the FOH equipment supplied and with a complete understanding of the stage patch, signal distribution and all equipment used for this show. The appointed technician must be in attendance at FOH during the entire sound-check and no less than 45 minutes prior to the performance, remaining at FOH position during the entire show. Their duties must not be shared with Monitor support a dedicated Monitor support technician should be supplied separately.

Main system is to have 1/3 octave 31 band graphic equalizers inserted. Side hangs, delays and satellites are to be matrixes of main. We will also need 1 x TC Electronics Tap Delay 1 x TC Electronics Multi FX Unit 2 x Yamaha SPX 2000 1 x CD Player. 1 x CD Recorder. 8 x Gates 8 x Compressors

MONITOR SYSTEM
IMPORTANT: The monitoring for this show is critical with all equipment, settings and requests listed here for a reason PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. If the promoter is to supply the equipment locally it must meet our specifications and requests to the letter.
THE ITEMS BELOW LISTED IN BLUE WILL BE BROUGHT WITH US YOU DO NOT NEED TO SUPPLY THESE ITEMS UNLESS THE SHOW IS IN NORTH AMERICA IN WHICH CASE THEY NEED TO BE SUPPLIED LOCALLY BY THE PURCHASER.

NONE OF THE LISTED ITEMS CAN BE SHARED WITH OTHER ACTS AND NO ALERNATIVE MAKES OR SUBSTITUTES WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF THE PRODUCTION MANAGER. The equipment must be confirmed in writing no less than 14 days prior to the date of the show. In the event that any of the above cannot be supplied we may source our own system to be freighted to the show at the promoters cost. The promoter should also supply a qualified and experienced technician, fully versed in the use of the wireless equipment and with a complete understanding of the stage patch, signal distribution and all equipment used for this show. The appointed technician must be in attendance on the stage during the entire show day including set up & sound-check. The technician must be present on stage no less than 45 minutes prior to the performance, remaining on stage during the entire show. Their duties must not be shared with FOH support a dedicated FOH support technician should be supplied separately.

Monitor Equipment Required


1. 1 x PM5D-RH Version 2 Console or Soundcraft Vi6 (Please note: For the PM5D - V2 firmware, RH version only. No alternatives - the entire show is programmed for these consoles).

2. 11 x Sennheiser ew300 G2 or G3 IEM transmitters complete with matching Antenna Combiners and A5000-CP or A2003-UHF antennae to cover the full stage area. Pre-programmed and tested for clear frequencies and range at the venue.

3. 15 x matching IEM belt packs for above, used as follows... 10 x 3 x 1 x 1 x Packs for Ali & the Band (Mixes 1 to 10) Packs for the Technicians (following mixes 1, 3 & 6) Pack for the Monitor Engineer (Cue/Mon) Extra pack for backup on Ali's mix (Mix 1)

4. 12 x Shure e5 or Westone UM-2 In-Ear Headphones. (With fresh foam buds fitted and a complete set of replacements available)

5. 1 x Amplified Drum Fill with Sub positioned to rear of drum riser.

6. All suitable mains adapters/cables and audio looms for above. PLEASE NOTE: All audio connections must be made with clearly marked/numbered Multi-Core Looms. Multiple XLR microphone cables are not acceptable and will be rejected and removed if found on the day.

It is absolutely essential that all the above is installed at the venue, fully checked and working, before the scheduled load-in. Failure to comply with this request may jeopardise schedules, show times and ultimately the show.

Monitor equipment set up notes for North America and instances where the monitor equipment is supplied locally.
All IEM transmitters should be set to true stereo mixes with the PM5Ds Mix-Out 1&2 connected to Transmitter #1 L/R, Mix-Out 3&4 to Transmitter #2 L/R and so on (up to Transmitter #10). Transmitter #11 is the Stereo Cue Mix taken from the PM5Ds Cue-Out L/R. The Drum-Fill Sub is taken from the PM5Ds Mix-Out 23 Set the Sensitivity of all IEM Transmitters to -24dB All Belt Packs to be set with BAL CENTRE, ST/FOC STEREO, LTD OFF, Hi-BST ON. Label all belt packs as follows... Mix 1 (three packs) Mix 2 (one pack) Mix 3 (two packs) Mix 4 (one pack) Mix 5 (one pack) Mix 6 (two packs) Mix 7 (one pack) Mix 8 (one pack) Mix 9 (one pack) Mix 10 (one pack) Cue Mix (one pack)

Information for the patch: We carry four radio microphones, one for Ali's lead vocal and three for the brass instruments (For USA shows these must be supplied by the promoter see Microphones paragraph, page 5). The receivers will be at the monitoring position (all XLR). All other microphones used for our set are hard wired. There should be no other RF transmitters in operation around the stage area during the performance.

POWER
PA to be on completely clean and separate phases from the lighting system and must supply 240v AC on British 13amp sockets to various points around the stage. (See stage plot).

MICROPHONES
Microphones and microphone stands are required. Please see attached channel list. Please Note: We require 12 direct injection boxes For shows within the USA we require the following four radio microphone systems: 1 x Sennheiser SKM-935 G2/G3 2 x Sennheiser 908-T ew G2/G3 (for Trumpet & Trombone) 1 x Sennheiser 908-B ew G2/G3 (for Saxophone)

SAFETY
Cables are to be run and provision made to secure and mask them in such a way as to minimise any potential hazard on and around the stage.
