Day 1 Focus : Listening & Speaking Theme : World of Knowledge Topic : Hooray! We are back! Content Standard (s) : 1.2, 1.3 Learning Standard (s) : 1.2.1, 1.3.1 Objective (s) : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to : (a) listen to and participate in a conversation in the class (b) respond to oral questions i.e What is your name?, How old are you?, Where are you from? Activities : 1. Teacher starts the class with a simple catching up session on how pupils spent their last school holiday. 2. Teacher then asks pupils to take time to notice about their new friends in school- the Year 1 pupils. 3. Teacher guides pupils to ask about their new friends. Pupils use questions such as : a) What is your name?- My name is _________. b) How old are you? I am _______ years old. c) Where are you from? I am from ________. d) Where do you live?- I live in __________. e) What is your hobby?- I like ___________. 4. Teacher highlights new vocabulary such as hobby and their examples i.e cycling, reading, playing football etc. 5. Pupils then practice the questions with their partner. 6. Teacher picks out partners randomly to show practice in front of the class. 7. Pupils then complete simple exercise in activity book.

Day 1 Focus : Transition Week Content Standard (s) : Learning Standard (s) : Objective (s) : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to : (a) get to know each other (b) get to know basic rule in the class Activities : 1. Teacher starts the class by introducing herself and gets to know the pupils. 2. Teacher do explains about basic rule of the class and how pupils should work together to keep their class clean. 3. Teacher then leads pupils to do a simple craft to be pasted on the wall later.

Day 2 Focus : Transition Week Theme : Topic : Content Standard (s) : Learning Standard (s) : Objective (s) : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to : (a) get to know the school building (b) know how to ask for permission to go to toilet Activities : 1. Teacher starts the day with taking pupils attendance. 2. Teacher then brings out pupils for a short tour around the school (if the weather permits). 3. Teacher introduces a jazz chant on how to ask for permission to go to toilet. 4. Pupils practice with friends, and later role play it out.

Date : 3rd January 2014 Day : Friday Time : 1015-1115

Day 2 Focus : Reading Theme : World of Knowledge Topic : Hooray! We are back! Content Standard (s) : 2.1, 2.2 Learning Standard (s) : 2.1.2, 2.2.4 Objective (s) : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to : (a) read and understand a text about Agus, the new boy. (b) answer at least 2 out of 3 comprehension questions correctly.

Activities : 1. Teacher recalls on previous lesson. 2. Teacher then introduces a short text about a new boy from Sarawak named Agus. 3. Teacher highlights new words found in the text. 4. Teacher then guides pupils to answer comprehension questions. 5. Pupils complete the exercise given. Reflection : Lesson was postponed as teacher was involved with the Taklimat Minggu Transisi dan Guru Penyayang bersama Pentadbir Sekolah 2014.

English Year 6B

Theme : Diagnostic Test (Revision) Topic : Content Standard (s) : Learning Standard (s) : Objective (s) : By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to : (a) diagnose pupils main weakness (b) revise on grammar components in general Activities : 1. Teacher greets pupils and distributes diagnostic test. 2. Pupils complete the test. 3. Teacher and pupils check the test together. 4. Teacher takes note pupils major weakness and identify pupils who are slow-learner, have potentials and high proficiency one.

Reflection : The test is conducted as to help teacher to frame out the action plan and strategies for pupils in order to sit for the incoming UPSR.
