Family Planning Atong Ipadayon Aron Hayahay Ang Kaugmaon Name of the Community: Sitio Baluarte, Lumbia Target

Beneficiaries: Residents of Sitio Baluarte Background: Based on the assessment gathered, 59% practice family planning but 41% of the population still not practicing and do not have enough knowledge about it. Many residents stated that family planning services are available in the health center and barangay health workers are still giving health teachings about family planning. Unfortunately, some residents still have a lot of misconceptions about using it and were confused about the possible side effects and ineffectivity of the method. Few of them still complained about the difficulty of applying the methods that was introduced. Goal: The project aims to impart new knowledge to correct the misconceptions and enhance about the proper use of different methodology of family planning. This would also promote the usage of family planning in the area. With this, conducting a seminar to the residents ensure proper understanding and elaborate different methodology of proper family planning. OBJECTIVES At the end of the implementation, the participants will be able to: a.) acquire knowledge about family planning; b.) learn new information about the misconceptions of using family planning; c.) correct the residents misconceptions; d.) be informed about the benefits of family planning; e.) know the proper way of family planning depending on the method used; f.) disseminate learnings about the topic to other residents in the area; g.) apply knowledge and skills learned from the seminar. RESOURCES The resources which will be used in the said project gathered from reference books and was put in the powerpoint to be projected in the seminar. Pictures were displayed to facilitate understanding the topic. CONSTRAINTS Actual Potential

1. The small number of participants who came in the seminar schedule. 2. No husband/wife present during the seminar, only one household in attendance. 3. Level of understanding in connection to the terms mentioned in the seminar. 4. The capacity of the community to sustain the information imparted.

1. The goal of the seminar would not be met. 2. The inability to relate knowledge acquired during the seminar.

3. Incorrect and misguided practices.

4. No changes in population size. Possible increment.

Strategies In order to make this seminar effective the group was able to come up with the following strategies; 1. Encourage the members of the community to cooperate during the planning and implementation of the seminar and emphasize the importance of it. 2. Proper information dissemination to the community members. 3. Assign group members to discuss about the Family Planning. Elaborate about the kinds; Natural and Artificial Family Planning. 4. Create power-point presentations about the topic to enhance learning and provide images to emphasize understanding. ORGANIZNG The group consists of subgroups which are then tasked with the following responsibilities; 1. Project Leader: a. Head: Rusche Kaye C. Caete - Facilitate and supervise the project. - Delegate task and responsibilities to other members of the group. - Assigned group members to discuss about the topic. - Identifies the progress and needs of the project. - Coordinate with the community leaders in the implementation of the project.

Organizes the activities of the team. Coordinates with the Clinical Instructor.

2. Budgeting Committee: a. Head: Rosanna Claudine M. Hernandez - Responsible for financial allocation of all the other committees. - Collects funds from each members of the group. - Canvass materials needed by each committees. 3. Logistics Committee: a. Head: Elaiza Louis S. Kiamco - In-charge of the physical set-up of the seminar location. - Secures the materials to be borrowed from the CSR. - Formulate the certificates to be given to the community members who participated in the seminar. b. Assistant Head: Charles Anthony I. Gontias - Follow-ups material to be used in the physical set-up. - Creates some of the designs of the seminar location. - Assigned to follow-up the signatories in the certificates. 4. Program Committee: a. Head: Queennie Lyra L. Idulsa - Creates the program flow of the seminar. - In-charge of assigning minor roles in the seminar (opening prayer etc.). - Follow-up group members assigned in discussion. - Delegates registration. 5. Documentation Committee: a. Head: Bell Mandrew L. Manliguez - In-charge of compilation of the projects implemented. - Assigns group members to document the seminar. CONTROLLING Evaluation:

The implementation of the project was successful with the participation and cooperation of the people in Sitio Baluarte. Some of the community people were present including the health community leaders which all demonstrated appreciation towards the end of the seminar. The seminar was interactive as questions and concerns were attended and they also shared their opinions with regards to the problems that need to be further attended. Although the seminar did not start on the expected time, all the necessary content and elements of the topic Family Planning were presented well and effectively. RECOMMENDATION In order for this project to be sustained, all necessary supplies should be monitored at all times through periodic inventory, house to house visits regarding family planning methods can be implemented annually complemented by proper dissemination of the services offered by the mini clinic and baranggay health center for thorough health teachings and monitoring, and lastly, consistent reinforcement should be ensured by the community health leaders.
