DYNANET Family Leveraging DYNANET Install Today, PDH network operators seek to increase the bandwidth capacity of their networks, adapting to new Ethernet traffc demands while maintaining traditional services. The Dyna DF1/4 Blade allows customers to migrate to an SDH network from existing DYNANET installations. Requiring no additional rack space, the Blade can be installed in a majority of DYNANET products freely alongside other interface units. SDH, Ethernet and TDM The Dyna DF1/4 Blade has two multirate STM-1/STM-4 trunk interfaces and two fxed rate STM-1 interfaces that can operate as a trunk or tributary. In addition, the Blade supports 12 E1s and four Gigabit Ethernet tributary interfaces. SDH interfaces provide fexibility in network design, confgurable in protected Ring, Linear, Point-to-Point or composite network topologies. SNCP and MSP/1+1 network protection schemes assure protection switching in less than 50ms. The platform also optimizes Ethernet bandwidth utilization by harnessing VCAT and LCAS for dynamic bandwidth adjustment and fne grain bandwidth allocation over the optical trunk. Cross connections can also be made between trunks within a single node at the VC12, VC3, and VC4 level. Software Driven The Dyna DF1/4 Blade is based on an innovative software- driven architecture that protects your investment by providing a direct upgrade path to feature and performance enhancements over the life of the product. Software updates are applied via an automated, fail-safe, one-step upgrade process that can be initiated from a central location to all sites in the network. Management All confguration management and circuit provisioning is done via a user friendly graphical node management system, Multiservice Manager. The Dyna DF1/4 Blade is an SDH interface unit for the DYNANET Family. Mechanically compliant with DYNANET subracks, the DF1/4 Blade allows users to connect existing DYNANET systems over an SDH backbone and utilize high capacity Ethernet links from the same device. The Dyna DF1/4 Blade applies a universal, robust, scalable SDH architecture to traditional networks, supporting the services of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Multiservice Manager In a departure from the conventional command line management approach, the Dyna DF1/4 Blade is managed via world class graphical EMS solution, Multiservice Manager. This industry leading software empowers operators to realize the full potential of their services by including a revolutionary graphical Digital Access Cross-Connect Switch (DACS) a time-saving drag-and-drop answer to circuit provisioning and bandwidth optimization. Windows-driven, this software provides a simple but comprehensive solution to rapid service provisioning and includes confguration, fault and performance management tools for maximizing network availability. SDH Cross Connect Dialog A1 E1 With Multiservice Manager graphical element management you can confgure circuits in seconds, and enjoy SNMP fexibility for management and diagnostics n HPOV Integration For networks that utilize HPOpenView, the HPOV Integration Plugin integrates network-based alarm management for the Dyna DF1/4 Blade and creates a launch portal into Multiservice manager for node element management. n Remote Management The DF1/4 Blade provides out-of-the-box Ethernet management, and direct management via a front panel USB console port. The device also functions as a management router, enabling users to dynamically construct an in-band IP management network using RIP or OSPF routing over the SDH DCC. Once the management network is established devices can be remotely confgured and managed via Multiservice Manager or SNMP, eradicating the need for costly truck rolls and greatly reducing the need for regional technical staff.
