63 points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a rare home win over the Los Angeles Lakers, 109-99 Tuesday night at the Target Center. Martin led the way for the Timberwolves (24-24) with 32 points, while Love racked up a dominating 31 points and 17 boards despite taking a thunderous hit from Robert Sacre late in the game. Nick Young put up 24 for the Lakers (16-32), who also welcomed an effective Steve Nash back into the lineup with seven points and nine assists. Minnesota got off to a quick start, exploding for 38 points in the opening quarter on 56 percent shooting. Ricky Rubio dissected the Lakers for eight assists while Martin poured in 14 points, including three 3-pointers. The Wolves expanded the lead to 25 in the second before the Lakers managed to stabilize their defense and mount a comeback. Los Angeles briefly cut the Minnesota lead to single digits but could get no closer.
