Good Afternoon, In working with the newly appointed Finance Director (Misty Jordan), we were able to ascertain that the City of Taylor's October 01st EVIP filing had not been submitted to your office. The former Finance Director departed mid-September and it was assumed that the filing had been completed. Additionally, this error appears to have resulted in the City of Taylor not receiving it's State Revenue Sharing payment. We are respectfully requesting your support in allowing the City of Taylor to submit it's filing and continue to receive its payment as the funding is critical to the financial well being of our community. Can you please provide some guidance as to what our options are at this time. Thank you for your consideration and support on this matter. Sincerely, Eric

Good Afternoon Eric, You are correct we are still waiting for your Category 1 EVIP submission. We did leave several voicemails for Lynn Cleary at 734-374-1488 ext. 7151 We left two on September 30th and we left another and made an additional call on October 1st. If we receive your Category 1 EVIP submission on or before November 30, 2013, you will still receive of your payment for Category 1. This late submission has no effect on your Category 2 and Category 3 payments. As long as both of those are received by their deadlines (February 1, 2014 and June 1, 2014 respectively), you will receive the full payments for those category. Please let me know if you need any help getting your submission together so you can receive of your Category 1 EVIP payment. My number is below and I would be happy to help in any way I can. Hope this helps! Denise

Misty, Please read below. The following email provided by the State of Michigan answers our question quite clearly. Upon receiving permission from the Mayor and/or yourself - I would be glad to work with the appropriate folks to get the EVIP documentation completed and delivered to the State of Michigan. We have two weeks to get this done and submitted. For the record, this is the third time we have found ourselves in similar circumstances. A permanent solution needs to be identified and process implemented. Thanks, Eric

Eric, Thank you very much for taking care of this promptly! I am relieved to hear that we haven't lost this revenue. Since you have experience with this reporting, it would be very helpful if you could take the lead on this and I would be happy to supply you with any information that you may need. I would suggest that we take care this at this point and perhaps we can have some conversation with the Mayor when everything settles. Thanks, Misty

Barb, We investigated the option of complying with this EVIP requirement so that Taylor could receive their payment. Unfortunately the boilerplate language for these funds is very specific about compliance and there is no appeal. Taylor is not alone, there are a number of communities that did not receive EVIP funding because their submissions were incomplete. Call me if you have any questions. Ed Edward B.
