A battle is brewing in northwest
Harris County between 12-year in-
cumbent Debbie Riddle and political
newcomer and local businessman
Tony Noun.
For the past few days, both candi-
dates have been stationed at the poles
welcoming early Republican voter.
Now, with election day fast approach-
ing, both candidates are trying to get
out their final message to voters.
According to Riddle, one of the
biggest issues in the district is keeping
out low-income housing, which she
said attracts crime, crowds schools,
brings down property values and
slows business development.
Theres a lot of unscrupulous de-
velopers targeting our area, said Rid-
dle.
Developers need to receive a cer-

area. Nice areas with good schools

positive or negative points depending
on whether they oppose or support
the project.
For the past 12 years, Riddle has
been opposing the projects, prevent-
ing about six to 10 a year from accu-
mulating the points they need to
open, she said.
What they do is come in and be-
come a haven drugs, crime, she said.
There are issues with overcrowding
schools. School districts are protest-
ing them and it puts a strain on law
enforcement.
However, in the last session when
Sen. Brian Birdwell proposed a bill
taking away represtatives ability to
give negative points, Riddle was
among the representatives to oppose

stopped cold.
Unconscious on a local fit-
ness cent er s gym f l oor,
Brown, in all probability,
faced death, a local doctor
said. But thanks to fast action
in the race against time by
friends, and cutting-edge ad-
vancements in medicine, car-
diac electrophysiologist Dr.
Senthil Thambidorai and his
team at Memorial Hermann
The Woodlands Hospital
were able to bring Brown
back to life.
The last thing I remember
was I j ust bl acked out ,
Brown said.
