My dear People, It has been customary to hold a mid-week meeting during Lent. However, this year I am not planning to do that, because for the last few years the response has been very poor. Each year there have been one or two weeks when the only persons present were the preacher, his wife, Roshini and me. If you do want to attend a mid-week meeting, why not attend the weekly prayer meeting on Tuesdays? Alternatively, if you want, you can have a special meeting in your own hope, provided you take responsibility for inviting people. The pastoral team will be there to hold the meeting. The observance of Lent makes spiritual sense only if there is regularity in devotional exercises during the ordinary seasons of our lives, Our Lord was against all forms of outward display and ritualism. When the Samaritan woman (Jn.4) argued that Jews and Samaritans disputed over where to worship. Jesus replied that neither Jewish nor Samaritan holy places mattered, that God wants people to worship in spirit and truth, When the Early Church started to worship and fellowship from house to house, very soon those holy places lost their significance. If we dont keep our heart right with God, holy times and holy places are not going to make us alright spiritually, because you cant have a casual relationship with God. He wants total commitment. He doesnt want you to do Lent and afterwards run off to do your own thing. With God, its all or nothing. If you wont give Him your all, He wont have anything to do with you. Then youre on your own and all you have is your luck and thats not good. Your choice: God or your luck. In Christs love, Kuru

Jebas mother is doing better in a old age home Indu has brought her mother Manju Ramachandran back to Lucknow Sandy went to see her father because he was unwell but hes okay now AnaithaChand used to be part of our Sunday School. Her mother Minnie, who was in a really bad accident earlier is in Tata Memorial Hospital for investigations Jerusha and Jillian are doing the ISC exams. Srishti and Aishwarya are doing ICSE exams. Mary and James Pearce returning to the US of A and hope to get visas to return to India Ishaaq& family escaped losing their home to a raging fire that came to within 1 km of their home Elishba& family with Joes mother in Montana, USA Geetu & Gary have to cope with extreme air pollution in Beijing Sonu Khan moving to Beijing.
