1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

ATA International offers a four-week theoretical and practical training programme
to empower and up-skill personnel in order to be holistically capable and
competent Basic Life Support Practitioners.

Topics addressed include:

o Professional Practice
o Traumatology
o Emergency Care
o Ambulance Technology
o Ambulance Practice

ATA is well positioned to deliver the EMT BLS course internationally, in addition
to within South Africa.

Should candidates attend the course in South Africa, then ATA caters for all
logistics pertaining to the delivery of the course, in addition to all in-country
logistics for candidates.

Successful candidates are awarded certification from the University of
Johannesburg, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Emergency Medical
Care.

Course fees will be made available on request.

2. PREAMBLE

ATA International Training (IT) specializes in emergency medicine, occupational
medicine, occupational hygiene, technical rescue, industrial fire-fighting, health
and safety training courses for professionals operating in remote and isolated
environments (e.g. oil and gas, mining, infrastructure and construction).

Our core purpose is to equip these professionals with internationally certified
courses that are generally regarded as being obligatory in respect of Health and
Safety regulation compliance.

These educational offerings are aimed at equipping and empowering national
staff and to facilitate expatriate staff maintaining their knowledge and technical
capabilities.

As a company we specialize in the presentation of off-the-shelf courses, as well
as the design and development of customized courses for clients.

These courses are prepared and presented by individuals who are widely
acknowledged and respected in their relevant fields of expertise.

ATA is positioned to deliver training programmes both locally and internationally.

3. COURSE OVERVIEW

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Life Support (BLS) course is
firmly based and modelled on the Basic Ambulance Assistant course (BAA) as
designed and implemented by the Health Professions Council of South Africa
(HPCSA), intended to be the entry level qualification into the Emergency Medical
Services (EMS).

3.1. EMT BLS Core Course Objective

To enable the practitioner to manage a wide variety of emergency situations
at a BLS level and to recognize when Advanced Life Support (ALS) measures
are required

3.2. EMT BLS Course Content

An introduction to EMS responsibilities with instruction in:

o Professional Practice
o Traumatology
o Emergency Care
o Ambulance Technology
o Ambulance Practice

Medical management principles and techniques will be taught to a BLS level
including methods of airway control, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
and the emergency care of critically ill patients

Candidates will also be introduced to the varying roles of ambulance service
administration, rescue and technical support services

4. CERTIFICATION OF TRAINING

ATA is an accredited provider of the Health Professions Council of South Africa
(HPCSA), Professional Board for Emergency Care Practitioners (PBECP).

Upon successful compliance with the examination criteria, candidates will be
awarded an ATA IT Emergency Medical Technician Basic Life Support Certificate
in addition to certification from the University of J ohannesburg, Faculty of Health
Sciences, Department of Emergency Medical Care.

Please note, that in the event of the course being presented internationally and
not at one of ATAs HPCSAs accredited training facilities in South Africa, then
candidates will not be entitled to register this qualification with the HPCSA as the
HPCSAs statutory sovereignty is limited to the Republic of South Africa.
Registration of successful BAA foreign candidates will be subject to the HPCSAs
registration requirements when the course is completed in South Africa.

5. COURSE PRESENTER

A certified EMT BLS Training Facilitator will present the course. This person will
be duly registered with the HPCSA as a Paramedic, thus being in possession of
the necessary certification from the various authors and custodians of the course
being referred to.

In addition, the course presenter will have completed an accredited facilitators
and assessors course, ensuring that candidates receive the highest possible
level of facilitation and subsequently assessed according to recognized assessor
techniques.

The Curriculum Vitae of the facilitator will be forwarded on request.

6. LOGISTICS

6.1. Training Equipment

ATA will provide the necessary EMT BLS training equipment and materials

6.2. Training Venue

The client will be expected to provide a suitable training venue (e.g.
uninterrupted power supply of 220V AC, air-conditioned etc) if the course is
presented internationally

This training venue must provide the following minimum training aids

o 1 table and chair per candidate
o White board
o DVD player and speakers
o Television
o Data projector
o A suitable practical training area

6.3. Language of Instruction

The course will be presented in English

The concurrent use of a facilitator is possible when candidates English
abilities are limited. This will more than likely necessitate the lengthening of
the course

6.4. Training Methodology

The primary methodology employed is didactic in nature combined with
interactive discussions and the practical simulation of emergencies and
associated skills

6.5. Course Location

The course can be presented at the clients premises or in South Africa

6.6. Duration

4 weeks full-time course (i.e. 120 hours; Monday to Friday; 08h00 17h00)

6.7. Candidates

The course is intended for persons who will be or may be expected to treat
and manage any type of emergency as part of their daily duties

6.8. Notice Period

A minimum of 6-8 weeks notice period is required in order to arrange the
necessary logistics

7. COST

Course fees will be made available on request

This cost includes the following:

o Provision of specialized training equipment & materials

o Equipment insurance

o Instructor fees

o Course fees

o Course documentation

o Course manuals

o 2 travel days for the Instructor

o Visas, taxes and travel documentation

o Travel insurance

o Travel vaccinations

o Certification costs

o Coordination, management and quality assurance of training and logistic
activities

7. COST (contd.)

However, this amount excludes:

o Return flights from J ohannesburg, South Africa
o Airport transfers
o Daily in-country transportation
o Travel in excess of 2 days
o Re-write fees (only if applicable)
o Accommodation & laundry for the Instructor
o Meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) for the Instructor
o Provision of a suitable training venue, page 7, item 6.2
o Excess baggage tariff for airline transportation purposes. This will be re-
billed to The Client at cost
o Customs import/ export costs. This will be re-billed to The Client at cost

8. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

An invoice will be forwarded after a request has been submitted to attend the
course

100% of the fee is payable on application. This is in line with internationally
accepted norms and standards

Payment must be received 6 weeks prior to the course start date

Any cancellation after the 6 week period prior to the course start date, will
levy a 60% cancellation fee. This is necessary in order to defray booked and
confirmed Instructor and administration costs. Should a course be cancelled
no reimbursement will be afforded to the client for course materials received
nor any other costs incurred by the client

Please note that this amount was calculated at the prevailing exchange rate
at the time of preparing the proposal. Any movement in the exchange rate of
more than 5% at date of invoice will result in a change of the quoted price if
applicable, despite the quote validity period stated above

The above fee is exclusive of any applicable taxes (VAT, WHT etc) that may
apply. In such cases ATA will itemize and add to final invoice

ATA is not to be held liable for any unforeseen travel delays, or delays
emanating from the late arrival of any training equipment or such that is not
released timeously by any respective Government authority or agency, or any
other delays that are totally beyond both parties control
