R1: make 8sc in the ring, join with sl st, 2ch R2: (1sc, 1sc)x8 = 16st, join with sl st, change to B, finish off A R3: using B, 2ch, (1sc, (1sc, 1sc))x8 = 24 st, join with sl st, 2ch R4: (1picot, 1sl st in the front side of st)x24 , join with sl st, sl st onto the back side of st

R5: same Petals R6: (14ch, turn, 1sc, 1hdc, 8dc, 2hdc, 1sc, sl st behind a sepal) x24, join with sl st. Finish

off.

The petals should be straight, so it could do with a bit of ironing

Crochet Ray Florets

Were going to make a continuous strip of 3 different types of ray florets using colour A and hook 1.75mm, then assemble them around the disc florets centre. Ray Floret style 1: make 4ch, skip 1st ch, 3sl st. Make 30.

Ray Florets style 2: make 6ch, skip 1st ch, 1sl st, 4sc. Make 12. Ray Florets style 3: make 10ch, skip 1st ch, 1sl st, 1sc, 7hdc. Make 12. Ray Florets style 4: make 13ch, skip 1st ch, 1sl st, 1sc, 10hdc. Make 12. Ray Florets style 5: make 16ch, skip 1st ch, 1sl st, 1sc, 1hdc, 12dc. Make 10. Fasten off.

Assembly
Thread a needle with colour A, turn the disc to WS and the ray florets to WS and start rolling and sewing the rays to the disc, increasing the diameter of the circle with each additional row of florets. Give the outer florets a light steam.

Central Ball
Start: using colour B and 0.6mm hook, make 2ch, skip 1st ch, make 4sc in the 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st, 1ch R1: make 4sc, join with sl st, 1ch R3: 1sc, skip next sc, 1 sl st to close the hole. Fasten off B. Pull the ball through the middle of corolla and sew at the back.

Stamens
Start: using 1mm hook and colour D make (13ch, 1 clone knot, 13sl st) = 1 filament with stamen. Make about 12 filaments on 12-15ch. Sew the filaments all around the central ball.
