IED User Management Tool component in PCM600

Right click IED object and select IED Users With the IED User Management tool in PCM600, users in the IED are created. This means that access from both Local HMI and from PCM600 needs authorization before data in the IED can be changed Note! When first starting the IED Users tool, read data from the IED or select Restore factory settings. If this is not done, IED users cannot be added with the tool

Different user groups defined


For the 650 and 670 series, the groups are predefined and cannot be modified by any user

The groups defines what members in the groups are capable of doing, eg, only the group UserAdministrator can add/remove IED users

Users are added by clicking the button highlighted (with the green plus sign) Type user name (max 13 characters), description and password Go to next page by pressing the Next button Select User Group(s) for this user

Write to IED IED User Management

Write the defined users to the IED PCM600 will block write operation if there is no user belonging to Administrator group defined After write operation, IED will restart Also possible to read the defined users from the IED back to PCM600 (requires that user belongs to Administrator group)

Started from the Tools > Options menu Note! Not same as IED Users. Will only have an effect in PCM600, not in the IED When configured, you must login when starting PCM600. Do not play with this without noting the administrator user and password

Select Category Manager option New user categories can be added, user categories can be deleted and user categories can be modified. Select the Function and Rights for the user categories
