WRITTEN REFLECTION NAME : AIMI SYAFIQAH BINTI SERBA JALIL CLASS : 5 PISMP TESL 1/ SN

Based on the action plan that I have carried out which was on how to create friendly-culture environment classroom environment, there were various knowledge and skills that I am able to learn and improve for my future teaching and learning lesson. The action plan was designed in order to provide conducive and friendly-culture classroom environment appropriate to the culture of native, indigeneous and rural pupils in areas of infrastructure, skills training and entrepreneurship development, religion, literacy and family welfare program. There were several strengths and weaknesses that I could found during the process of designing the action plan, preparing the essay and also aspects that I would like to improve. Firstly, there were several problems and obstacles that I faced during the process of designing action plan. As I never did any action plan before and not very familiar with the format of action plan, I found that it was very difficult and worried that I might not be able to finish the tasks within the time given. The first draft of action plan that I did had a lot of errors and mistakes when I compare it with other friends action plan. In order to solve this problem, I redo the action plan again and refer it to my friend and ask questions whether my work was right or wrong. I started to understand the task better and found that my work improved. Thus, I learnt that we should not feel shy to seek for help. Besides, during the preparation of essay which required us to write on one factor that can build friendly-culture classroom environment and strategies to build friendlyculture classroom environment based on the factor, I found few failures when I only found few articles on internet that is related to Malaysian context. Most of the articles are not really suitable with the project tasks. I also found that it was hard to give and explain examples for each strategy stated as it must relate to multicultural classroom context in Malaysia. Meanwhile, to come out with the action plan rationale was really hard as it may not suit the objectives of each activity.

However, throughout this project tasks I also could find the successes or strengths that could motivate me to do better in future. One of the successes is I able to instill positive and optimistic thinking which was important for a teacher to acquire it. As a teacher, we must avoid making negative assumptions towards our students. We need to understand students different cultural background first before judging them. Some students may appear rough just because it is one of his or her culture attributes but it may not actually who the students are. Thus, it is crucial for teacher learn different cultural background of each student. In addition, I able to acquire and learnt new skills on how manage a multicultural classroom. Teacher should be aware that we live in country consists of diverse races and ethnic groups thus it is the role of teacher to narrow the gap between the ethnic groups. Teacher can help to narrow the gap through physical aspects of a classroom such as seating arrangement that enable students from diverse ethnic groups to interact with each other. Teacher can also provide reading materials which are suitable for students from diverse ethnic groups and during classroom activities, teacher should form groups comprising of students from diverse ethnic groups to encourage interaction from different races. These new knowledge and skills helps me to practice good teaching and learning management. Furthermore, the overall task for this project taught me about unity which relate to my future plan which is to be a teacher. Government has designed policies and taken measures to ensure a harmonious relationship among the various groups thus teachers have important roles to play to realise these goals. I realized that teachers should take up the challenge to create a united Malaysia and thus create a harmonious relationship among the ethnic groups. In order to accomplish this role, teachers themselves must believe in the importance of creating a healthy multicultural environment which treats everyone as equals. It is crucial to be instilled among teachers as I am one of the future teachers too. In the nutshell, I hope that the assignment task given could be the platform for us to practice and acquired various teaching skills and knowledge. I am grateful that I could learn and gain various knowledge and skills from my mistakes and peers who willingly

to share their knowledge and opinions. I hope to be a better teacher in the future and could improve my teaching skills and knowledge.
