RULES AND REGULATIONS

GENERAL REGULATIONS 1. Age of all horses to date from 1st August. 2. Horses must be free from hereditary unsoundness in all classes except Jumping and Sporting Events. 3. Horses are to be paraded on the days, and at the times the stewards shall direct. 4. Competitors, exhibitors, grooms or others in charge of exhibits must comply with directions given by stewards. FAILURE TO COMPLY with directions may incur, at committee discretion, a fine, disqualification and/or removal from the grounds. 5. Exhibits wrongly entered shall be transferred to the correct class. 6. All colts, stallions, two years and over shall be led with a bit, and be under the complete control of the handler at all times. 7. Stallions may compete in led-in classes and sporting events only. 8. All ponies and galloways requiring to be measured should contact the Chief Ring Steward. 9. MAIDEN: A horse, which has never won first prize in any Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies, affiliated show. 10. NOVICE: A horse, which has never won a Champion Hack in any Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies affiliated show. 11. YOUNG STOCK: A horse 3 years of age and under. Young stock are only eligible to compete in their respective classes. 12. Any horse entered in Stud Classes MUST be registered in the Stud Book of their respective breed society and owners must be financial members of said society. 13. On the occasion of the clash of events, the competitor must decide which event he/she intends to enter. The program will only be altered at the discretion of the chief ring steward. 14. DISTRICT: The district shall be anywhere from Mackay, South to Rockhamption, West to Emerald and North to Townsville. Horses/Ponies must be domiciled in the district for a total period of 3 months immediately preceding the date of Mackay Show and must be owned and ridden by persons living in this district for a total period of 3 months immediately proceeding the date of Mackay Show. 15. Approved safety helmets (3838 or better) MUST be worn by children under 17 years competing in all classes and showjumping events. It is strongly recommended that all competitors comply with this rule. The Association will not be responsible for any accident or injury that results from failure to wear approved safety helmets. 16. All competitors/exhibitors are required to sign the official indemnity form as a condition of acceptance of entries. 17. Please note: EA Members, sponsors, special guests of the Association and management committee appointed stewards, only admitted to the ring during equestrian/showjumping competition. 18. The Committee reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel any event in this schedule at any time, and without notice. 19. Ponies may be ridden by adults, unless specified as a childs class.

20. On day two only once a horse/pony has won a championship in one(1) ring they are ineligible to compete in the other ring. I.e. If a horse wins champion open hack in Ring 1 it is ineligible to compete in the open hack classes in Ring 2. 21. FOXHUNTER SERIES RULES: Horses must be a Maiden D Grade registered EA with a current performance card. Rider must be a current EA member and must be owner, part-owner or lessee. Horses already to have won a foxhunter preliminary round are not eligible. Horses places 1st 6th are eligible to compete in the final. Entries All entries must be recieved and paid for prior to the show or at the ring office during the show. A ticket system will operate please refer to specific sections for details of this. NO TICKET NO ENTRY NO EXCUSE Prize Money Prize money will be distributed to competitors at the completion of each class in rings 1 and 2. Please note that if there are less than three(3) competitors in a class only 1 st place will be paid and if there are less than five(5) competitors only 1st and 2nd will be paid. PLEASE NOTE: we may substitute prize money for products or vouchers of equivalent or more value. Stables, Camping & Passes Please refer to stable and camping booking form, which can be found on our website www.mackayshow.com.au. Stables and campsites will be allocated upon receipt of payment and completed stabling and camping form. No straw bedding allowed your own bedding must be supplied. No camping or electric fences will be allowed in the ring. PLEASE NOTE STABLING IS AT A MINIMUM If you want to guarantee yourself a stable, stables must be booked and pre-paid.

SHOWJUMPING PROGRAM 1. 2. 3. 4. All competitions will be conducted under F.E.I. Rules. Prizemoney is liable to forfeit, if the respective performance card is not produced. For height classes; 1 Horse, 2 Starts per day. For duration of the Show each horse is allowed 3 starts per day only.

FOXHUNTER SERIES RULES FOR 2014 1. All horses competing in Foxhunter competitions in Queensland must be Maiden D Grade. 2. All horses must be currently EA registered and have a current AF Showjump Performance Card. Before and prizemoney is presented the Performance Card must be sighted by the judge. 3. The rider must be a current EA Member as must the owner, part-owner or lessee of the horse, and his/her name must appear on the horses current Showjump Performance Card. 4. Performance cards must be made available on request No card, no start. 5. Horses awarded 1st Place in any Foxhunter Preliminary Round Competition are no longer eligible to compete in any further Foxhunter Preliminary Rounds. 6. All Foxhunter qualifying rounds will be AM3. 7. Height of Qualifying Rounds will be 95cm to 1.05m (first round). 8. Horses placing 1st in any Official Foxhunter Qualifying events will be eligible to take part in the final. 9. All horses achieving double clear rounds in an Official Foxhunter Qualifying Event will be eligible to take part in the Final. 10. The Foxhunter Series each year will date from 1st of January until the date of the Final for that year. 11.
