In February 2006, i completed my degree as a Dipl. Fashion Designer at the University of the Arts in Bremen. In Pippis Sisters i was inspired by a certain type of women who stongly remind me of A. Lindgrens Pippi Longstocking. Not in their looks but in their self-determined ways, in their peculiar habits, their self-mockery attitude and in the freedom in which they live that out. I invented for my gures practical clothes in a Pippi Longstocking sense: An underskirt with a print based on a choreographic navigation for tango. Or long knitted gloves which can easily be turned into stockings. Jacket sleeves with more free space in the shoulders, for active women sometimes in need of climbing trees.

At Berlin based label Penelopes Sphere I worked two seasons, spring/summer 07 - fall/winter 07/08, as a guest designer, designing half of the womens wear collections. From the theme research untill the production, i was working very close and in a constant dialogue with Tamari Nikoleishvili who runs the label. My focus was on designing and pattern making, but i was also very involved in fabric- and material research and -ordering. I promoted the label in Berlin and Paris. For the summer 07 i developed swimwear, shirts, trousers, shorts, dresses and jackets.

A series of garments produced for the Penelopes Sphere fall/winter 07/08 were partly inspired by my diploma theme Pippis Sisters. One feature is a front placed sleeve, intending to convey a sense of activity and a propulsive stance. 1 2 3 4 5 6 next page >>

In the work placement at John Galliano, September-December 2004, my focus was mainly on draping by stand. I was involved in many different projects with a variety of themes. Garments designed included t-Shirts, swim- and underwear, a weddingdress and gloves. I also worked with one of the designers on her project, did knitwear samples, jewelry and theme research.
