Since the modern invention of chemicals used as pest control, humans have been using them for quite a long time but as the number of more conscious people rises, one of the questions are repeatedly asked, Is there a safer alternative to using chemicals as pest control?

Salt as one of the most important spices in the orld, it has been used to preserve meat long before refrigeration as introduced, so I have came up ith an idea to use salt as an ant deterrent mainly due to my observations that ants don!t go near to salt, so I have came to a plan to use the saltiness of salt to use it in order that ants on!t come contact ith any food item because ants are sensitive to diff. kinds of chemicals that their antennae detects. In this pro"ect I ould like to provide a like ise natural alternative to ant deterrents, so that people could save money, do not need to orry about someone getting poisoned because they have in contact ith the chemical itself, to create a safer and more healthy environment, and to lessen our dependence on chemicals

,I. Analysis It is up to you if you ill go for it but the problem ould be usually is that there ill be a trail of salt but you can clean them any ay.

,II. .indings As hat e have found out, salt could be a great deterrent against ants due to salt!s nature hich is salty and the sensitivity of the ant!s antennae against some chemicals. 1ut it does leave a very messy trail of salt though, but at least e have proved the efficiency of the said product.

,III. 2onclusion 3e have concluded that salt is a good alternative to ant deterrents that are sold in the market.
