HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Joshua 4-6; Mark 14:59-72 Monday, March 17 Psa. 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Lord and Living Savior: I meet so many parents and adults who used to attend church as a child or a teen. They have slid back far from your presence. Make them groan to be restored! Give them repentance over their sins. Give them faith so they can come to Christjust like they once came to churchas a little child. Help me be your messenger to bring them a word from you. They need to hear the gospel from the lips of someone who loves them. That will end their fears about repenting. They cannot be restored without your Spirits work in their heart. Work in the life of __________ and __________. The task is great, and the flesh is more in the way now than when they were a child. My own personal weakness is an argument to make me cry even more emotionally to you for help! David, when he felt like me, hastened to the mercyseat with the request, renew a right spirit within me. Lord, give me grace to plead with you for the souls of those who are lost, just like I would plead for my very own. Help meespecially in front of themto be much in prayer, and to feed much on your word. Kill the lusts that have driven me from you, Lord. Help me watch against future uprisings of sin. It is said of the blind man in John 9 that as Jesus passed by he saw him. You have your own providential path. I want to sit by the wayside where you are most likely to bless so I can be ready when you pass by. Pass by our church! Pass by our outreach. Pass by our HarvestKids classes. Pass by our services this Sunday. Pass by my own family. All power has to come from you to save even one soul from hell. Meet me today in the place where I wait for you. Give me grace to spread the gospel to the lost in Jesus name. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Joshua 13-15; Mark 16 Thursday, March 20 Josh. 1:11 Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS CROSS Chronological Bible Reading: Joshua 7-9; Mark 15:1-23 Tuesday, March 18 Luke 23:28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. Oh, Merciful Lord: I am so sorry. I am sorry I am so capable of letting other peoples problems grieve me, and yet not able to remember the griefs of Jesus with emotion. The bewitching pen of some fictional screenwriter sketches some imaginary picture of fanciful woes, and I am cut to the heart. I am cut to the heart by movies and drama (CSI) or even reality TV (Idol), but what about when I picture the sufferings of Emmanuel? Am I affected? You did well Lord, to set healthy boundaries for our emotions. The followers of Christ that ministered to him at his death were women from Galilee (Matt 27:55-56). These weepers in Luke 23 were women of Jerusalem. Many forgot the next day they had wept for you the day before. If tears are only from emotion, they are quickly wiped away and forgotten! Such weeping is powerless because it does not change my character. It does not produce the putting away of sin. It does not cause real and saving faith in Jesus. Many tears are shed under manipulative sermons or therapy sessions, and are just so much wasted water. Once the sermon or counseling session is over the sorrow stops because there was no work of grace in the inner heart. It was a surface ripple and no more. Save me from that, Lord Jesus! Feelings are so deceptive. They make people think there is something good in themselves just because they cried. The tears may not have come from a heart of flesh, but are only the condensation on a heart of stone. I weep not so much that you died, as I weep because it was my sins that made it necessary you die. Forgive me the transgression because I have seen the crucifixion. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Joshua 16-18; Luke 1:1-20 Friday, March 21 Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Lord and Master: Remember our cry for our city! The gospel is preached, but so many turn their backs. Raise-up more voices to be heard. Open men and womens ears to what is proclaimed. Compel them to come into your house of mercy. From Blue Springs to the globe, help us be voices for God. May there be no silent member among us regarding the things of Christ. Show us how to overcome through the blood of the Lamb and the word of his testimony. Bless the various ministries carried on by our church. We remember the men and women who have been trained at our side and are serving you even now. Speak through them! Make us more and more a living church, a church in which God shows forth his power and his love. How we long to be one body! May all our ministries be Holy Ghost ministries, and be an exercise of spiritual gifts among us. We cast ourselves on you and implore you to make us useful today in our families, in our ministries, in the community, on our jobs, and in the world. Convert those who sit with us on Sunday who are unsaved. Have mercy on someone who once professed Christ but is now backslidden. Grant them repentance. Let them turn back to the one they once professed to love. Have mercy on others who are hearers, but hearers only. They are attentive hearers, but not doers of the word. Give us your Spirit so we can operate with anointing and power. Fill us so full of Jesus we have no room for self! Make us more like your Son to the glory of God, and so others will be drawn to Christ and get saved. Do this by Jesus power for his names sake. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Joshua 10-12; Mark 15:24-47 Wednesday, March 19 Psa. 43:2 For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? Holy Father: Why have you cast me off? There are many valid reasons why you could, but no reason why you will. You sometimes treat me like a castoff for a while, but you have not cast me off altogether. Why do I go mourning at my oppression? Probably because I am saved, and so must be made more like my Savior. Lord, help me not sin during the sorrow of stress. People can do so little to help me, but you can do all things with a glance. Psa. 43:5 hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. There is need for patience, but yet cause for hope. Psa. 80:3 Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Dont turn my circumstances around; just turn me! Everything will come out right if I am right. I need you Lord to do this, because conversion (turning) is as much a God thing as creation. Restore me. Revive me again. Psa. 85:1 LORD, thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. Many a time I have been brought into soul-captivity by my backsliding, but you have never left me there. Be favorable to me once again. Psa. 85:4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease. That is the main thing. Revive me and all will be well. You dont need turning from your anger so much as I need turning from my sin. Only you can turn me. If I turn to prayer, I am beginning to turn from sin. I am dead or dying, faint and feebleyou alone can revive me. Give me your grace as I give you my worship. I adore you today, O Jesus. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Joshua 19-21; Luke 1:21-40 Saturday, March 22 Psa. 26:3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth. Loving Heavenly Father: David is enduring reproach. In this I can emulate also the great Son of David, who found comfort in concentrating on your word when he suffered. Sometimes Im just worried and worn out. Lord, let the unjust justice cause my soul, not to lash back, but to flee to you in prayer. Here is my daily affirmation: I will not use unrighteous means to gain release or to keep happiness. I trust in you to providentially accomplish your own plan with me. Let the word of God do the work! Slippery though the slope may be, faith in your will keeps me from falling. Give me a straight but right path, and a strong but simple faith. Your goodness to me is the motive for all my conduct. Psa. 26:11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. If I were not so forgetful of your mercy I would walk even more in obedience to you. Help me live so as to tell your worthy praises to the lost. Dogs may bark but let me, like the moon, shine-on in telling your grace. I dont want to be silent today. Your love is more wonderful considering my unworthiness as an object of it, the high cost of its provision, and the great glory of its result. I know people who like to discuss things that amaze them. So let me rejoice to talk about the great things you have done for me. I will swim against the stream, trusting in God to help me. The plain way of righteousness is my choice, and I cry and plead for redemption for __________ and for __________. My integrity is not assured; it is only a work of your grace. I trust in your mercy to me. I am a saint by faith in the Redeemer, but I still bow before you as a sinner. Send salvation to many who are lost this Sunday, for Jesus sake. Amen.

HAST Thou, O Lord, a work to do? Here am I, send me!

The field is white, the labrers few, here am I, send me! O touch my lips with fire divine, here am I, send me! The dross consume, the gold refine, here am I, send me! A lowly vessel at Thy feet, here am I, send me! O cleanse and for Thy use make meet, here am I, send me! My heart now longs and yearns to go, here am I, send me! To reap Thy harvest here below, here am I, send me! Over mountain, plain or sea, Here am I, send me! Ill go to the ends of the earth for Thee, Here am I, send me! J. Gilchrist Lawson, 1910

PRAYER DIARY

1)

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

" INTERCEDE WITH GOD " INSTRUCT SAINTS " PROMPT PETITIONS " KICKSTART DEVOTION

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

! Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God) ! Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of walking with us) ! Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in the Word)

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
