CHALLENGES FACED
PSTN modem used in beginning at consumer end led to failure
and telephone wires connected got damaged.
Lot of GSM modems initially procured got faulty due to poor
design.
In meters which had metallic meter boxes attenuate signal to
very large extent and hence communication was not possible.
Regular maintenance of faulty modems is required for initial
period.
Meter manufacturers were not willing to share their protocols.
Initially Communication success rate of APIs was very low.
Data downloaded with Base Computer Software and AMRDA
and CMRI were not compatible.
Output files in XML form were not containing proper values.
