There wasn't a m a n in England who could hold a candle to him in a s c r a t c h r a c e , a n d f e w h a d m u c h of a show i n a handicap event. He was beaten a t times, b u t only when the handicaps against h i m were such that they would b e laughed a t today as out of t h e q u e s t i o n .
