la was a revolutionary leader who fought against the unfairness of the treatment by the white to the blacks, known as the apartheid. This made blacks second class citizens although they were the majority population. Though he was innocent, he even went to jail for fighting to the last second for what he believed in. During this time, a lot of people did not care to hear his thoughts nor give him a chance but that did not stop him.

A ardent passionate Nelson Mandela changed the lives of the South African people. He was committed to peace and reconciliation and by doing this, it allowed equal rights for all people in South Africa. He was the first South African president to be elected in a fully representative democratic election. He was president from 1994 to 1999.

N noble - having or showing fine personal qualities or high moral principles and ideals When Mandela was sent to jail, he was branded a terrorist by everyone. None the less, he did not let the words affect him or affect the outcome of the plan he wanted to achieve. He wanted South Africa to be free from white rule and wanted his own men to be in control because they werent treated fairly and they were majority population, but not for negative reasons.

D devoted loyal Nelson believed that the black people should have as many rights as the white people. When he was sent to jail, he was offered to be able to get out of prison if only he gave up fighting for what he believed in, but he refused. Though he couldve gotten out of the whole prison incident, he chose not to. He was loyal to his people, because he too was an African American. He is an example of a true fighter, there is no such thing as giving up when its everything you want, and freedom was what he wanted.

E emancipator someone who frees other from bondage Nelson Mandelas ultimate achievement was the granting of freedom to the South Africans. He also participated in campaigns to rid South Africa of segregation which was very common during the colonial times. After, he won the 1993 Novel Peace Prize with F.W. de Klerk for peacefully ending the apartheid regime of South Africa. He also led South Africa to recovery as the leader of the ANC (South Africas ruling party.)

L lion-hearted brave and determined Before his presidency, Mandela was an anti-apartheid activist. Nelson was sentenced to prison in 1952 for encouraging black South Africans to go on strike and for illegally leaving South Africa. He battled South African apartheid and planned to overthrow the government by non-violent protests. On February 11, 1990, 27 years later, he was released from prison when State F.W. de Klerk reversed the anti-apartheid organizations.

A achiever to perform or carry out with success The day Nelson Mandela was released from prison, he made a speech. In that speech, he cited that his main focus was to bring peace to the black majority and give them a vote in both national and local elections. He did not want his country to be taken of its natural resources and just wanted freedom for his people. This man has a rich history of fighting for human rights and dealing severely with the consequences of those actions. He is a peace loving man whose face will be a part of history because of his strong faith. Though he passed away on December 5, 2013, the changes he made will stay forever.
