There are five assessment criteria that are used to assess the work of both SL and HL students. DesignD Data collection and processingDCP Conclusion and evaluationC !anipulative skills!S Personal skillsPS The first three criteriadesign "D#$ data collection and processing "DCP# and conclusion and evaluation "C #are each assessed twice. !anipulative skills "!S# is assessed summativel% over the whole course and the assessment should be based on a wide range of manipulative skills. Personal skills "PS# is assessed once onl% and this will be during the group & pro'ect. ach of the assessment criteria can be separated into three aspects as shown in the following sections. Descriptions are provided to indicate what is e(pected in order to meet the re)uirements of a given aspect completel% "c# and partiall% "p#. * description is also given for circumstances in which the re)uirements are not satisfied$ not at all "n#. A complete is awarded 2 marks, a partial 1 mark and a not at all 0 marks. The ma(imum mark for each criterion is + "representing three ,completes-#. D . / 0 1/ DCP . / 0 1/ C . / 0 1/ !S . 1 0 + PS .10+ This makes a total mark out of &2. The marks for each of the criteria are added together to determine the final mark out of &2 for the 3* component. This is then scaled at 34C* to give a total out of /&5.
