Points Spacing between cables Cable over Bridges

Description To maintain the spacing, suitable non-metallic formers shall be placed uniformly with spacing not exceeding 5 meters. Every bend shall have at least one spacer. On Bridges the cables are generally supported on wooden cleats and clamped on steel supports at regular intervals. The cables laid on bridges shall be provided with Sun shield.

Laying of CablesSingle Core Cables 66KV a) The single core cables (66KV) shall be laid in trefoil formation. Single core cables can be laid individually in 200mm HDPE pipe in case of HDD(horizontal direct drilling) only. b) For single core cables laid in trefoil formation, plastic cable ties shall be used at interval of 1.0 (one) meter through out the cable length to maintain the trefoil arrangement. c) To balance the inductance, the phase sequence as shown here below shall be maintained. (For double circuit) A1-C1-B1 & A2-B2-C2 d) To prevent magnetic losses (eddy current and hysteresis losses), the base plate of the panels or the terminal box of the equipments, shall have aluminum plate. In case the entry into the building is through GI pipe; a slit in the GI pipe shall be necessary. Alternatively GI pipes may altogether be avoided and non-metallic HDPE pipes shall be used. Note: Concrete pipes having steel reinforcement (RCC pipe) are not to be used. Earthing and cross bonding of Single Core Cables

a) Single point bonded earthing shall be employed to prevent flow of induced circulating current in the armour and screen and consequential de-rating of cables for feeder less than 1.0 KM. b) For feeder length more than 1.0 KM, the contractor shall get the cross bonding design from BSES and ensure that Cable is laid in coordination with cross bonding joint supplier. c) Cable laying contractor shall coordinate and ensure required pits are provided at the points where cross bonding is required as per design calculation. d) In case of any damage to 66KV Cable due to laying of cable without cross bonding the contractor shall bear the cost of damage to cable and any other property. e) The contractor shall get a written confirmation either from engineer in-charge or C&M department of BSES in case cross bonding is not applicable for any specific cable route. While pulling of the Cable from the drum or during laying following minimum bending radius shall be maintained so that the cable, in particular the insulation does not get damaged
