Regards croiss et diachroniques sur les apports de la dendrochronologie et de l'archologie la comprhension de l'occupation humaine et de l'volution des paysages du Nolithique la priode moderne.
Archologues, historiens, dendrochronologues et dendrologues y auront l'occasion de dbattre de l'influence de l'espace forestier sur les activits humaines et, rciproquement, de l'impact de l'occupation humaine sur son environnement, spcialement forestier. On assiste au dveloppement des oprations de rhabilitation-restauration, aux programmes interdisciplinaires et la prise en compte du patrimoine culturel par les collectivits territoriales au regard de la lgislation. Cette dynamique incite multiplier des lieux d'changes sur les problmatiques, les mthodes et les perspectives, la fois en terme de recherche et en terme d'volution des mtiers. Dans ce contexte, ce sminaire sera centr sur la prsentation et la discussion des apports de la dendrochronologie l'archologie du bti, l'archologie de fouille et l'archologie subaquatique, autour de trois grands domaines d'occupation humaine, le domaine rural et montagnard, le domaine urbain et le domaine des rivages (littoral, rives de plans d'eau et de cours d'eau).

The Connected Past est un groupe de chercheurs dot dun comit scientifique international et interdisciplinaire. Son objectif est doffrir des lieux de discussion autour du dveloppement dapplications originales des approches en termes de rseaux et de complexit en archologie et en histoire. Les objectifs de la journe sont de proposer un lieu commun de prsentation pour des recherches appliquant des approches des rseaux des questions archologiques ou historiques, discuter les spcificits et les implications de ces approches pour ces questions et types de donnes particuliers et contribuer la constitution dun groupe de chercheur.se.s intress.e.s par le potentiel de ces approches en archologie et en histoire. "L'imaginaire du cheval, dont tmoignent les productions artistiques sous leurs formes les plus diverses (peinture, sculpture, littrature, cinma), suscite auprs de publics varis (jeunes, femmes...) un engouement qui, loin de se dmentir, se renouvelle dans la mesure o les valeurs que lon peut associer aux chevaux (nature, vivant, sensualit, esthtique, motion, jeu, partage, soin, ...) rencontrent certaines aspirations de la socit contemporaine. Si leurs fonctions traditionnelles (la guerre, la traction animale) se sont restreintes, leur devenir, dans une conomie des loisirs, se construit autour dune varit dusages, allant des plus notoires (courses, sports, loisirs, spectacles...) aux plus nouveaux (cheval territorial, tourisme, quithrapie, insertion sociale...). En mergence au niveau national mais peu reprsente au niveau institutionnel, ltude des relations humains / animaux en sciences humaines et sociales est depuis quelques annes saisie par des jeunes chercheurs, qui sattachent renouveler lapproche de cette thmatique. Face ce constat, le colloque Relations anthropozoologiques : nouvelles approches et jeunes chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales poursuit deux objectifs : - dune part, il sagit de consolider et dlargir un rseau de jeunes chercheurs intresss par un objet a priori proche sur un plan thmatique, mais suffisamment complexe pour impliquer diverses approches
disciplinaires (sociologie, gographie, histoire, anthropologie, conomie, psychologie, sciences politiques, linguistique, etc.) et mthodologiques. - dautre part, ce colloque entend contribuer brosser un tat des lieux de lextrme diversit des terrains, des mthodes, et des outils conceptuels mobiliss pour rendre compte des types de relations qui unissent les humains et les animaux avec lesquels ils vivent, travaillent, (inter)agissent.

NARNIA International Conference: Interdisciplinary Studies of Ancient Materials from the Mediterranean

The conference will provide an opportunity for new and established researchers to share research in an international forum and to exchange ideas on the latest interdisciplinary approaches, analytical techniques and methodologies for the integrated study of ancient materials, technologies and the environment. The NARNIA network is a collaboration of researchers who are engaged in the holistic study of ancient materials to facilitate a better understanding of the strategies associated with the production and the consumption of material culture and its impact on the historic and ancient environment. Abstracts of a maximum of 250 words should be submitted by the 31st of March 2014 to narnia@ucy.ac.cy in MS Word or PDF format.

The Symposium will be focused on main aspects of archaeometry, the application of modern experimental methods and techniques used in dating, investigation and identification of ancient artifacts, as well as related fields of archaeology and art history. The Symposium program will include invited lectures, oral and poster presentations on the following topics: - Analytical methods for cultural heritage monuments diagnostics; - Dating; - Geoarchaeology; - Archaeometallurgy; - Bioarchaeology; - Field research remote sensing and non-destructive methods; - Theoretical and experimental archeology; - Preservation of cultural heritage conservation and restoration; The 4th BSA meeting will be organized in 4 days: a 3-day conference presenting sessions (invited, oral and poster presentations) and one-day workshop. At the workshop the participants will see demonstrations and will participate in experiments in situ with portable apparatus at real archaeological sites or in museum rooms. In addition to scientific seminars, a wide range of social programs including city tours and visits to historical places will be available.
