5 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
What this document includes: This document provides the minimum system requirements for various User Productivity Kit (UPK) components. Your organization may be implementing some or all of these components, so refer to the sections that are applicable to you. UPK Content Section: This section discusses the system requirements for UPK published output (published output is what the end-users will view/use). After recording UPK content using the UPK Developer, UPK Content Authors will publish the content to one or several different published outputs. There are three types of published outputs discussed in this document: Browser-based Player, LMS Compliant Content and HTML Website. The requirements listed for the published outputs are for the end-users of the UPK content. UPK Developer Section: This section discusses the system requirements for installing the UPK Development Tool. The people who will be creating UPK content (Content Authors) use the UPK Development Tool. This document discusses system requirements for installing the UPK Development tool as a Local Developer installation, meaning the core UPK Development Tool files are installed locally on the Content Authors workstation. It also discusses a Centralized Content Development installation, meaning the core UPK Development Tool files are installed on a central server where content can be shared, while a client version of the UPK Development Tool is installed locally on the Content Authors workstation. UPK Usage Tracking Section: Usage Tracking is a UPK component that can be used to track the end users progress through UPK content. This section discusses the requirements for implementing the Usage Tracking component. Usage Tracking is included on the UPK Development Tool CD. Usage Tracking is an optional component and is not required to create or deploy UPK content. UPK Target Application Support: There are several Oracle applications that UPK considers target applications, including E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and Siebel. With a target application, UPK provides enhanced object recognition and also supports context sensitive help. The Target Application Support section of this document outlines the different versions of the target Oracle applications that UPK supports.

Network Requirements Network Speed Protocol Shared Folders 10 Mbit (bi-directional), but higher speed access is highly recommended. TCP/IP Developers require create, modify, and delete permissions for files and folders in the location where the developer is installed.
