DynoPlex provides two different ways of loading its applications on the handheld to make this process
more convenient and reliable. You can use any of the methods described below. Please follow the
installation procedure carefully and pay attention to the notes at the end of each section. This will help
you to set up and configure the software correctly and avoid installation issues.

OTA installation

OTA (Over-the-Air) installation allows you to install Dynoplex applications directly on your BlackBerry®.
This is the most quick and convenient way to load the software. If something doesn’t go as it is
described please go to section 2.4 “Troubleshooting”.

Follow the steps below to install the applications:

1. Open BlackBerry Browser

2. Go to www.dynoplex.com

3. Select Mobile Version

4. Click on “Downloads“ link

5. Select application to download

6. Press Download button

The application will be automatically downloaded and installed on you device.

Note 1: If you wish to have the ability to transfer files from your desktop to the device over-the-air
installation requires some additional steps to be performed – you should also download and install
eFile on your desktop.

Note 2: If you install eSpell or any bundle which includes this application the dictionaries will be
loaded afterwards, when you initially run the application.

Note 3: Some applications are not available for OTA installation.

Desktop installation

4
Dynoplex eOffice User Reference Guide

go as it is described please go to section 2.4 “Troubleshooting”.

Before loading Dynoplex applications please check whether handheld software and BlackBerry Desktop

• Rename sheet to rename sheets (by default sheets have the following names: Sheet1, Sheet2
etc)

• Hide/Show toolbar to provide ability to use full screen or graphical options to perform different

To change the cell formatting select the cell or cells

you need to re-format, and invoke Cell option in the

By default, text in cells is aligned to the left.

Numbers, on the contrary, are aligned to the right of
a cell. You can change the alignment with the toolbar
buttons or with the alignment options of the
formatting dialog.

You can also make data in the cell bold, italic or

underlined using the formatting dialog or toolbar
buttons.

Numbers in eCell can be formatted only through the

formatting dialog. Here is the list of number format categories with brief explanations:

• General. General number formatting – this is the default format. Numeric values are displayed as
whole numbers, decimal fractions or numbers in exponential format (if numbers are too big or
exceed the cell size). For example exponential format for number 1000000 is 1e6.

• Date. Here you can switch between 28 date formats.

• Time. Provides ability to switch between 4 time formats.

• Date&Time. Here you can switch between 8 date & time formats.

• Number. Here you can change number formatting.

• Currency. Here you can select currency formatting.

• Percentage. This category adds & symbol to numbers.

In the formatting dialog click “OK” once you have selected all required formatting options.

You can copy and paste cell data, including formulas. To copy cell data use the following instructions:

• Select a cell or a range of cells (initial range) and copy it to the clipboard. To select cells, click on
Select-Cells/Rows/Columns menu.
• Place the cursor in the range to which you wish to copy data (setting range) and paste the
clipboard data.

Number of sheets in eCell is unlimited. Every sheet consists of cells and every cell contains one of the
following data types:

• Numbers

24
Dynoplex eOffice User Reference Guide

• Text
• Formula

Numeric values (numbers) show quantitative

relations between data of a certain kind. For
instance: sales volume, number of employees, Earth
radius, etc. Numbers in cells can be used as input
parameters in formulas and charts. Numbers can
also be in data and time format.

Besides numbers, you can edit text in sheets. As a

rule, text is used for entering numbers, column labels
and some relevant information about tables.

If you enter text in a cell that exceeds the current width of a column, eCell will display the whole text
using the neighbor cells. If neighboring cells are not empty, the program will display the maximum
number of characters that fit in the cell width and the cell data area will show data in full.

Wrap, Merge and Vertical Align Options

If you want text to appear on multiple lines in a cell,

you can format the cell so that text wraps
automatically.

To use this option select a cell and then press

Alt+Trackball to move to a toolbar. Then move
cursor to “wrap” option. It is highlighted with blue.
Click on it.

25
Dynoplex eOffice User Reference Guide

Your text will be wrapped. By default it is bottom aligned.

For the optimal display of the data on your worksheet, you may want to reposition the text within a cell.
eCell allows you to change the alignment of the cell contents. To change text alignment -highlight a cell
and press Alt+trackball to move to a toolbar. Top alignment is highlighted on a picture with blue.

select Network folder the document will be saved to online file storage or directly to your desktop.

Charts

Charts are pictorial presentations of numerical data

located in the sheets.

eCell provides you perfect ability to create colored

charts right on the handheld. It supports at least 11
chart types and 22 subtypes.

Here is the list of the eCell diagram types and

number of subtypes:

• Column - 3
• Bar - 3
• Line - 3
• Pie - 2
• XY (scatter) - 2
• Area - 3
• Doughnut - 1
• Radar - 1
• Bubble - 1
• Stock – 3

To create a chart you should select cells with data

first and then select Chart option in the toolbar or in

Formulas

In eCell you can create complex formulas employing

both numbers and text. If you enter a formula in a
cell, the calculated result will be displayed in the
same cell. If you change any of the input arguments,
eCell will automatically recalculate output value and
display new result.

If you wish to create the formula highlight the needed

cell and press enter. The focus will be switched to
cell data area. Then enter equal sing (=) and type the
formula. To finish formula entry press the ENTER
button or click the roller wheel. The syntax is similar
to MS Excel and most of economical, statistical and
logical functions are supported. All functions begin
with an opening parenthesis, followed by a closing
parenthesis. Functions differ by their arguments:

• functions without arguments

• functions with one argument
• functions with fixed number of arguments
• functions with non-fixed number of arguments
• functions with optional arguments

If there is more than one argument in the function, each argument is separated by comma. You can
insert function either by typing it manually in the cell data area or by clicking insert function option which
is right to cell data field or in dropdown menu under Insert item. If you are not advanced eCell user it is
strongly recommended not to type functions yourself.

Insert function interface looks as it is shown on the picture. This window has two panes to select
functions and one lower pane with buttons and function brief description.

Function categories are listed on the right pane, while alphabetical list of functions within the selected
category is on the left one. Select function and then press “OK”. The function name will be added to the
eCell main window edit bar. Use the keyboard to enter arguments in the cell data area right in the sheet.
When row of arguments is formed, select the “OK” button to add a function to the cell.

eCell uses different operators in formulas. Below you can find the list of supported operators:

• ‘+’ addition
