INTRODUCTION

vib-Graph is a graphics software for the analysis of rotating machinery vibrations. It contains numerous types of representations, advanced cursors and post-processing in order to perform a diagnosis and present its conclusions in a report. Two versions are available:

vib-Graph Basic: this tool is a perfect complement to process data acquired with Movilog2 (1 channel) or Movipack (1 or 2 channels) in Analyser or Order analysis mode. This is also the version supplied with our predictive maintenance software package Divadiag.

vib-Graph Expert: in addition to the tools already included in the Basic version, this version also offers: Processing of time signals recorded with multichannel acquisition systems: 01dB-Stell PC systems (Symphonie: 2 channels, Harmonie: 4 channels, Melodie: up to 16 channels) DAT recorders (Sony PCScan2 format, Teac TAFF) WAV files originating from any other source.

Processing for the analysis of signals acquired in steady state (spectrum analysis) or transient state (order analysis) Ellipse spectrum, Ellipse Bode and Emax Waterfall representations to easily process path measurements performed on a bearing using two perpendicular sensors.

PROCESSING

vib-Graph Expert offers various processing types for the analysis of recorded signals. The order analysis processing is used to extract information necessary to study the different phases of a run-up, using waterfall spectra, Bode or Nyquist diagram, as well as orbit and position viewing. A tachometric input is necessary to obtain the information on rotation speed and phase required for these types of representation. If no tachometric channel is available, it is however possible to extract data for the waterfall spectrum representation and for orbit or position display. Other types of processing are also available:

Spectra Multispectra Filtering

. high pass . low pass . band pass . band cut Resampling (oversampling and undersampling) Cepstrum

Data can also be exported in Matlab format (additional processing) or WAV format (signal playback for instance).

TEST DESCRIPTION

To improve data representation and interpretation, vib-Graph provides information on the test, such as:

Site name Machine name Unit of measurement channels Scale and offset correction Sensor position Sensor orientation Bearing clearance

REPRESENTATIONS: GENERAL DESCRIPTION

vib-Graph is used to represent on screen or to print measured or processed data. It works in multi-window mode and several graphs may be superimposed in a single window. Each curve may contain several cursors at the same time with customisable areas for comments and information resulting from all cursors. Scales may be automatically or manually (using the mouse to zoom in/out) set or fixed. Furthermore it provides a broad range of tools to perform analyses and edit reports on time signals, spectra and run-ups or coast-downs.

ELLIPSE REPRESENTATION
Introduction

When a bearing is equipped with radial sensors set 90 apart from each other, it is possible to plot the orbit representing the path of the measured element in the plane formed by the two sensors. The same way a spectral analysis decomposes a time signal into a sum of sinusoidal signals, this path can be decomposed into a sum of ellipses.

=(

Each ellipse can be defined by the following 3 parameters:

Emax: maximum radius Emin: minimum radius Phase: combination of: Path direction (+ / -) Inclination (from 0 to 180)

Emax Emin Inclination Inclination

Spin direction

These parameters can be viewed on three types of representations:

6.1.1

Ellipse spectrum

It represents the spectral decomposition for Emax and Emin values. The phase can be accessed by the cursor.

6.1.2

Emax waterfall

This representation is useful to monitor the evolution of the Emax spectrum during a transient phase. It is used to detect the vibration maxima (order, frequency, rotation speed) regardless of the sensor position.

6.1.3

Ellipse Bode

This representation allows to monitor the evolution of the elementary ellipse associated with the rotation frequency or any of its multiples during a transient phase.
