A recognition program for

Tourism Frontliners (managers and staff) who exemplify the true Filipino hospitality in their work places
Local Chief Executives (Governors or Mayors) whose leadership and projects have created positive impacts to tourism in his locality

OBJECTIVES
To instil in every Filipino the culture of tourism, and motivate them to extend an efficient and thoughtful service to tourists. To help raise competitiveness of the Philippines as a tourist destination To engage the participation of the Filipino people and the tourists in the Its More Fun campaign To encourage LCEs to be more proactive in tourism development

Individuals

Individual Nominees may come from the following sectors:

Accommodation Travel Agencies and Tour Operators Tour Guides Tourist Transport Individual Service Providers
(such as entrepreneurs, frontline government employees, policemen, etc.)

Exerts best effort in making guests feel at home

Flexibility, Adaptability, & Creativity

Shows optimism, resourcefulness and makes productive and innovative use of whatever is available at any given time

Trustworthy, fair and has integrity

Shows consistency and best effort at work physically and in work ethics (includes grooming and appearance)

Promptness
Act was done without delay and hesitation

Cut-Off Date for nominations is on May 31, 2014 Awarding Ceremony will be on September 26, 2014 Every year, a roster of Tourism Star Awardees will be chosen by the Star program team

Tourism Star Trophy to be awarded by President Benigno Aquino III. Sponsors Prizes Tourism Star Pin Funding for a Community-Based Tourism Project proposed by the awardee,(Max. amount: P1,000,000.00) * Bronze Marker to be displayed in a conspicuous place in the vicinity of the LGU* Free participation/booth space in a market-matched international travel fair* Display of the DOT and Tourism Star logos in their website *
