Watertown Christian School to Open New Classrooms for Record Enrollment Numbers Early Enrollment Open for 2014-15, Parents Encouraged to Tour School to See Results
WATERTOWN (March 27, 2014) Construction at Faith Fellowship Christian School which will allow the school to add new classrooms is nearing completion as the school looks to build on record enrollment numbers by offering its high quality Christian education to even more families. The school started the year with record enrollment and with mid-year transfers has grown to serve 178 students, from pre-kindergarten through 12th more than ever in its 27 years. Faith Fellowship Christian School has experienced faculty with New York State Certified teachers, offering a Regents diploma without the constraints of Common Core and standardized tests. Classroom sizes are capped at 16 students, with art and music classes providing a well-rounded education. The schools athletic program saw league championships in both boys and girls soccer, with an undefeated boys basketball team that won its league championships as well. Bussing is available for students through cooperation with the public school system. Parents continue to recognize the benefits of a school that offers a quality education in a faith rich environment where each child can get the personal attention they deserve, said Principal Ted Curinga. Adding these new classrooms will allow the school to accommodate more students and offer more options in their education. Thompson School on Moore Avenue will add two new offices, two classrooms, free up three existing rooms, and improve security. Work began in the fall of 2013 and will be completed before the end of the school year. We benefit from the influence of many area churches, said Pastor Mike Bartholomew. Parents often want to know if their family has to attend Faith Fellowship Church in order to attend the school. We only ask that students and their families are committed to a local church, and proclaim a saving faith in Christ. This inclusive atmosphere adds to the educational atmosphere. In all, 28 different churches/chapels are presently represented in the FFCS student body. Students attend chapel once a week, and participate in Bible class daily.
