ELECTRICIANS & THE INDUSTRY

JOB OUTLOOK FOR ELECTRICIANS IN THE PHILIPPINES

JOB OUTLOOK: ELECTRICIANS AND THE PHILIPPINE INDUSTRY.

In the US, growth of employment of electricians is projected to grow 23% from 2010-2020. In the Philippines, employment of electricians is expected to grow considerably for the next ten years or so, faster than the average for all occupations. The recent implementation of R.A. 9513 known as the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 will accelerates the need for more qualified and trained electricians in the country in the installation of renewable energy equipments and component that had never been done before. New homes and businesses need to be wired ever before, and electricians will be needed to install the necessary components.

Alternative power generation, such as solar, wind, wave inverter, biomass, and geothermal or even is an emerging field that should require more electricians for installation. Furthermore, competent electricians will be needed to link these alternative power sources to homes and existing power grids. Employment growth stemming from these sources, however, is largely dependent on government policy. Employment of electricians fluctuates with the overall economy. Also, workers may experience periods of unemployment when the overall level of construction falls. Facility electricians in factories and industrial plants tend to have the most stable employment. Electricians with the widest variety of skills should have the best job

opportunities.

WHAT IS AN ELECTRICIAN
An electrician is a trade person specializing in all electrical works which includes wiring of buildings, stationary machines and related equipment including its maintenance and other related works.
Qualified Electrician is supposed to be employed whenever electric power is needed in any establishment.

However, acceleration of these accomplishment always depends on government policies.

BUSSINESS CLIMATE IN THE PHILIPPINES

AmCham survey finds Philippines most improved business climate in ASEAN The Philippines was the most improved in business environment among ASEAN countries, a new survey of American firms operating in the region revealed, despite continuing concerns of corruption, tax structure, and infrastructure. Based on the 2013 ASEAN Business Outlook Survey conducted by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in 10 countries in ASEAN revealed that from 2008 to 2013, the Philippines showed the greatest improvement in its business environment.

World Bank ranks PHL among Top 10 countries in improving business climate The World Bank thinks it's getting easier at least. The Philippines is among the 10 top economies in enhancing the business environment in the past year, improving its ranking by 30 places in the World Bank Group's "Doing Business" report released Tuesday. In "Doing Business 2014: Understanding Regulations for Small and Medium-Size Enterprises," the Washingtonbased multilateral lender said the Philippines was among nations that has implemented at least three reforms in doing business the multilateral lender monitors. The Philippines made it easier for businessmen to secure construction permits, obtain credit and pay taxes, the report noted. In the latest report, the Philippines now ranks 108th out of 189 nations, up 30 notches from 138 last year.

ECONOMIC GROWTH OF THE PHILIPPINES

Economic growth is the increase in the market value of the goods and services produced by an economy over time. It is conventionally measured as the percent rate of increase in real gross domestic product, or real GDP. GDP is The market value of all final goods and services produced in a country in a given year, equal to total consumer, investments and government spending, plus the value of exports, minus the value of imports.

GNP is the total of all final goods and services produced within a nation in a particular year, plus income earned by its citizens (including income of those located abroad), minus income of nonresidents located in that country. Basically, GNP measures the value of goods and services that the country's citizens produced regardless of their location. GNP is one measure of the economic condition of a country, under the assumption that a higher GNP leads to a higher quality of living, all other things being equal.

GNP AND GDP REPORTS AND FORECAST Investors rely on the trends of economic growth, thus the real GDP is very significant in the influx of investments in a country. The GDP is the most important of all the indicators for a robust economy so it is important to know the trends of forecasted value for the succeeding years to come. GDP are reported every quarter of the year and forecast could be short or long term.

Achieve energy self-reliance 1.1 to reduce the countrys dependence on fossil fuels 1.2 to minimize the countrys exposure to price fluctuations 2. adoption of clean energy to mitigate climate change 3. promote socio-economic development in rural areas Increase the utilization of renewable energy by providing fiscal and non-fiscal incentives

GREEN ENERGY OPTION PROGRAM

R. E. 9513 Chapter III, Section 9 also mandates the DOE to establish a Green Energy Option program which provides end users the option to choose RE resources as their sources of energy. End users may directly contract from RE facilities their energy requirements distributed through their respective distribution facilities. Section 10. Subject to technical considerations and without discrimination and upon request of the distribution end users, the Dus shall enter into net metering agreements with end users with RE system.

INCENTIVES GIVEN TO RE PROJECTS

Investors in Renewable Energy Projects are given special FIT rate (Feed-In Tariff) as incentives. Income tax Holiday (ITH) For the first 7 years of commercial operations, registered RE developer shall be exempt from income taxes levied by the government. Duty free Importation of RE machinery, equipment and materials within the first 10 years upon the issuance of a certification of an RE developer.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES CREATED BY R.E. 9513

There will be an unlimited job opportunities for electrician after the full implementation of R.E. 9513. Qualified electricians will work on the installation of renewable energy equipments and component that had never been done before for homes and businesses who had the option to generate their own power consumption.
