The ISKRAMATIC SEP2 system is intended for electric energy measurement, local energy data registration and processing, data transmission to a remote computer centre where data are safely stored and processed. There is no limitation of a number of measuring places (electricity meters) which the system can manage. Only computer capability in the centre and availability of communication lines are limiting factors. The Iskramatic SEP2 system is compatible with AMR systems of other producers of energy measurement equipment.
Meters have to be equipped with impulse transmitters or a RS485 or CS serial interface (20 mA current loop by DIN 66348) for on-line energy data transmission to data loggers or communicators where local registration and data processing are performed.

For remote data transmission from the data loggers and communicators to the centre, the PSTN, ISDN or GSM networks are used. Besides the above communication media, direct cable connections (a twisted pair or an optical cable), FM radio, cable television (CaTV) network and different satellite communications can also be used. For emergency situations a manual transfer of data is available (a PC notebook or a Memory Card).

A main computer centre represents the highest level in the Iskramatic SEP2 system. Its basic functions are automatic remote data read-out of all measuring places, safe data storage in a database, and data processing according to the operator or customer needs. PC technology with Microsoft Windows NT software environment, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server data bases and special-purpose software packages of the SEP2W family (Iskraemeco property) are used.

Electricity meters (as well as gas meters, heat meters, etc.) are basic elements of the system. The electricity meters can be either electronic or electromechanical, classes 2.0, 1.0, 0.5S or 0.2S, for active and/or reactive energy, for one or two energy flow directions, for direct or transformer connection. High precision meters are available both in a half-width 19" rack and in a case for surface mounting.

P2x communicators and POREG2X data loggers form the next level in the Iskramatic SEP2 system hierarchy. Basic functions are data acquisition, registration (safe data storage), local processing according to valid tariff system and remote transmission to the central computer centre. Due to requested on-line communication the data loggers and communicators have to be located on the same location as meters.

Computer centre software consists of: Microsoft Windows NT operating system: Windows NT Server for servers Windows NT Workstation for clients Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server database Iskramatic SEP2W software packages: POREG4 View POREG2 View S-Kombi View SEP2 Collect SEP2 DbManager SEP2 Report The above mentioned Iskramatic SEP2W software packages have been developed by the Iskraemeco company and represent the latest technology including internet and intranet technologies.

POREG4 View, POREG2 View and S-kombi View software packages are mainly used for parameterisation of data loggers and communicators of POREG4x, POREG2x and P2x product families and the meters of the MT8xx product family.

The basic purpose of the SEP2 Collect software package is automatic or on request collection of measuring and other data from the above mentioned devices and their safe storing in the database. It supports different protocols and communication channels.

SEP2W
The SEP2 DbManager software package offers preparation of SEP2 databases where not only results of a measurement, but also all other necessary data on measuring places and substations are safely kept. The SEP2 Report software package has been developed for the end-user. It enables making of different graphical and alphanumerical reports, energy consumption analyses and automatic printout of consumer invoices. It also enables incorporation of different reports in internet or intranet systems.

Recommended capacity of other equipment:

UPS has to assure at least 15-minute operation of the whole system in case of 230Vac power shortage. multiport modem should be provided with at least 1 modem port for each 50 data loggers / communicators.
