Cutting Edge Technology Delivers Efficient, Economical Operation

Suzuki 4-stroke outboards are noted for the low fuel consumption, low exhaust emission, low noise, and outstanding reliability. And of course, they provide excellent performance while maintaining their outstanding fuel efficiencywhich results in reduced running costs and extended operating range. Suzuki 4-stroke outboards offer good fuel economy, are good for the environment, and make good business sense. So look through the lineup, pick the outboard thats right for your boat, and get ready to experience the advantages that Suzuki delivers.

ADVANTAGE 2 Outstanding Durability & Reliability

Suzukis excellent reputation for building reliable outboards is long standing and well known throughout the industry. Our belief is that outboard should be both durable and reliable. And we engineer our outboards with proven features that keep your outboard running strong and long. P Water pumps are designed with hardened chrome plated sleeve for extra protection against wear. (DF50W and up) P To protect the engine, over rev limiters are standard. (All models except for DF2.5) P A monitor system and diagnostic system that warns the operator with lamps in the multi-function tachometer (optional on tiller handle models) and a buzzer, and reduces engine speed before the problem becomes serious. (DF50W through DF140W) P Low oil pressure warning system are also standard. (DF9.9 and up) P Suzuki Anti-Corrosion Finish is applied to create an effective guard against corrosion. (DF25 and up) P Application of PAHP Treatment improves adhesion between the aluminum alloy surface and the paint finish to require higher corrosion resistance. (DF2.5 through DF15)

ADVANTAGE 1 Outstanding Fuel Savings

Suzukis Multi-Point Sequential Electronic Fuel injection equipped outboards deliver outstanding performance without sacrificing economical operation. Their systems incorporate an onboard computer that optimizes electronic fuel injection operation to gain maximum performance from the engine and superior fuel economy. As the comparisons below show, fourstrokes, regardless of the operating range, consume far less fuel than their two-stroke opposites, and will take you further with the same amount of fuel. That turns into money you will save on your first day out, and over time will add up to great savings for you or your business.

Four-strokes deliver remarkable fuel efficiency (DF225 vs DT225)

The 2-strokes fuel consumption equals 100. Maximum output When cruising, 30% savings in fuel. When idling, 75% savings in fuel.

When cruising

As you can see in the simulation above, our four-stroke DF225 can save you more than 16,000 liters of gasoline per year compared to the twostroke DT225. In this particular case, the savings gained in the first year* will be enough to cover the difference in price between the two-stroke model and the four-stroke model.
* The amount you actually save will vary depending upon the price of gasoline and the number of hours you operate the outboard.

ADVANTAGE 3 Clean, Environmentally Friendly Operation

Suzuki s advanced 4-stroke technologies produce outboards that not only run clean and efficient, but also pass the worlds strictest standards for clean operation. Every Suzuki 4-stroke passes the 2006 EPA exhaust emission regulations set by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and

ADVANTAGE 4 Compact & Lightweight Outboard Designs

Suzuki engineers excel at designing compact and lightweight 4-stroke outboards. Their ingenious designs they have produced the lightest and most compact 4-stroke outboards in nearly every class. Our V6 and in-line 4-cylinder 4-stroke outboards, from the DF115W up, are all engineered with an offset drive shaft that positions the crankshaft in front of the drive shaft. This Suzuki's unique design creates an

ADVANTAGE 6 Superior Technology Delivers Superior Performance

Superior technology equals superior performance. It really is that simple. All fuel injected models from the DF50W and up are equipped with an Electronic Control Module which monitors critical data from sensors to calculate the optimum fuel/air mixture under various operating conditions. This provides greater fuel economy, quicker starts, smoother

overall compact profile. And further, it moves the outboard's center of gravity forward and improves the total performance. As an example of how light and compact Suzuki 4-strokes are, the DF140W weighs less than a competitor s 101kW(135PS)2-stroke outboard. And as the graphic shows, the same DF140W is much smaller than a competitors 84.6kW(115PS) 4-stroke.

acceleration, and instant throttle response. A two-stage gear reduction in 4-strokes from the DF115W and up is used to gain the largest gear reduction possible. This allows the use of a larger prop for more efficient propulsion to deliver greater acceleration and top speed.
Two-Stage Gear Reduction
The two-stage gear reduction system found in the four-stroke DF200W, DF225W and DF250 consists of a first stage gear reduction of 32:40 between the crank shaft and the drive shaft, and a second stage gear reduction of 12:22 in the lower units gear case resulting in an overall gear ratio of 2.29. By comparison the two-stroke DT225 is only 1.86.

ADVANTAGE 5 User Friendly Operation

Designed with the user in mind, Suzuki outboards are packed with user-friendly features. Multi-function tiller handles on the DF70WTH and DF50WQH incorporate major operating functions for maximum operating efficiency. High output alternators found in our V6 4-strokes are designed to generate a majority of their output at lower rpms to power your electronics even through hours of trolling. Flushing of the cooling system is easy with the freshwater flushing ports found

on the DF4/5/6 and DF70W and up, and you dont need to run the outboards engine to do so. An oil change reminder system is standard on all fuel-injected models. In our portable lineup youll find user-friendly features like an automatic decompression mechanism for easy starts on the DF4 through DF15, and the big carrying handles and large integrated fuel tanks found on the DF2.5 through DF6.

ADVANTAGE 7 Smooth & Quiet Operation

As the comparison shows, the 4-stroke DF225W operates quieter than the 2-stroke DT225 throughout the entire power range. 4-strokes from the DF50W and up are equipped with an Idle Air Control System that lets the engine idle at very low rpms making the outboard barely audible at idle. Even when cruising, its quiet operation lets your passengers or crew communicate comfortably.
