Strategic Brand Overview

Teris photography is a family owned business based out of Orange, Texas, which is located in the Southeast part of the state. We were started by Teri Newell, a mother of five children, who was tired of overpaying to have pictures of her kids taken and printed. A friend saw her work and asked her to take family pictures and Teri readily agreed. She embarked on the journey of trying to make something better for herself as well as others. This company started as something small that led to something much bigger than any of us could have ever imagined.

Company Goals
Being a small company, we feel that we can provide for and satisfy your needs completely. We can set aside the time to focus on you more than a lot of larger companies can. Our goal is to give you a professional product at affordable prices in a timely manner. Teri never appreciated how much money most photographers charge for their services, so one of our goals is to provide quality pictures at an affordable price. We strive to keep our prices as affordable as possible given the current market. Its our main goal here at Teris Photography to achieve complete satisfaction to the best of our ability.

Mission
Our mission here at Teris Photography goes beyond just our professional lives, but also is a mission for our personal lives. In all that we do we try to apply the statement, Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with all of thy might. We are Christians and try to uphold a Christian perspective as well as provide services that depict Christian values.

Logos

Teris photography has a few different logo options available for different uses. The first version of the logo below is the preferred version to represent Teris Photography.

Teris Photography

Alternate Horizontal Logos

Teris Photography

We created a few alternate versions of our logo because we know some people need options. This is one of the versions that can be used if it fits the feel and color scheme of a project better. We ask that when using this alternate logo the black edges on either side of the words be equal. It does not have to be an exact distance, but needs to be identical. The same applies for the top and bottom black edges.

Teris Photography

In this third horizontal option of our logo we added a thin gray line underneath the words. This adds an extra element to our traditional logo if you are trying to make it less plain or just make it pop a little more. If using the line you should always make sure that it is touching the bottom of the lowercase p in the word photography. This means do not leave any white space between the line and the bottom of the word. You may also not use a line on our black backed logo.

Logos

Stacked Logos
We know that the space you are working with will be limited more at some times than other times. Also, publishers or advertisers are usually going for a very specific look. For this reason we have designed three stacked logos. We ask that you use them just as we have designed and not manipulate any of our logos in any way without permission from our owner. They are designed specifically the way they are for a reason.

The 1st version of our logo is very close to our classic logo except that the image sits atop the company name. If this logo fits your use better you are more than welcome to use it. The spacing of the lowercase h in photography should be such that the top of the h would be flush with the bottom of the image if they were touching.

This is the 2nd version of our stacked logo. We have added a gray line. The gray line must always be a thickness of two points. The distance between the two parts is not extremely specific. We just ask that you have the white space on the top slightly smaller then white space on the bottom of the line.

This is our 3rd version of our stacked logo and it has all of the logo elements stacked. We ask that if you are going to use this version that you back it in black. We do not like how the logo looks with so much white space.

Avenir Heavy

Fonts

We have carefully chosen each of the fonts that we use here at Teris Photography. In all of the versions of our logo the font that we have used is Avenir. This is a sans-serif font and we chose it to give our companys logo a clean and simple look. Throughout our logo we use different styles of that font family, but stick within the Avenir family.

Symbol Fonts
For the symbol that is in all of our logo designs the capital T and the capital P must be in Avenir heavy. Below are some examples of what are and are not acceptable for the creation of our symbol. Take not that their are very small differences but in the creation of our design we were very specific.

T= T= T= T=
Avenir Roman Avenir Light Oblique Avenir Medium

Please take notes from above on the font style that we have chosen for the symbol in our design. The examples above just show the uppercase T but all the same font family and styles apply for the uppercase P. The size of the letters in the symbol is not a specific size, but the P must always sit inside the T. The two letters must always be flush along the bottom. The Ps curve will stick out from the edge of the T.

Company Name Fonts

Teris Photography = Teris Photography =

Avenir Book Avenir Medium

For our companies name in our logo we ask that you also use the font family Avenir. We ask that instead of using the style heavy that for the name you use the style Book. Below are some examples of what to do and not to do.

Sizing
When it comes to sizing all that we ask is that the font size of the symbol is twice as big as the font size of the companies name.

Colors

We have two primary colors that we use for mostly everything here at Terris Photography. When designing are logo and brand we decided we wanted something clean and very cool looking. This is why we decided on this lighter blue and a darker shade of gray. We will break each of these colors down in detail below. The lighter blue color must always be used for the capital T in our symbol and be what the word Teris is in, in our company name. Below we provided the exact color and number codes for the blue that we use. If creating our logo our trying to use our blue it must be the exact match of the color below.

Dodger Blue C= 62.91, M= 27.52, Y= 0, K= 0 R= 59, G= 164, B= 255 PMS= 292 C

The gray color must always be used for the capital P in our symbol and be what the word Photography is in, in our company name. Below we provided the exact color and number codes for the dark gray color that we use. If creating our logo our trying to use our gray it must be the exact match of the color below.

Cool Gray C= 53.91, M= 47.53, Y= 43.97, K= 10.66 R= 121, G= 119, B= 121 PMS= Cool Gray 9 C

Other Graphic Elements: Watermark

Being a photography business we like to take ownership of our images and property, because of this we usually have a watermark on the bottom right hand side of out photographs. Our watermark is not in the same font as our logo and other branding elements. We do our watermark in Edwardian Script ITC. We allow our watermark to be done in a few different colors. We prefer it to be done in our blue, gray or black. We also do not if our watermark is used in pure white. We give a few more options for are watermark because we know it can be difficult to match the colors in the photographs with such few options.

Teris Photography Teris Photography Teris Photography

Because we do not want our watermark to become the main focus of a photograph we never size it over 30 point font. We do not want to take away from the art and beauty of the photograph it is on. We just simply want credit for our work. Depending on the size of the photograph determines what size it will be. We do ask that the distance on the right to the edge of the image is the same distance from the bottom to the edge of the image. We want it to be equal. The reason we have such a common and over the type font for our watermark is because this was our original logo from when we began. We knew we needed an update to our look but did not want to completely get rid of what we started with from the beginning. So we decided to update our logo and keep our traditional watermark.

Conclusion
We thank you for being understanding about all of our requirements regarding our designs and brand. We just want to be set apart from other businesses and claiming what is ours is a huge step in that direction.
