Montage
Description: Design an inspirational montage using 3 or more images. Date: Feb 13, 2014 Course Instructor: Caryn Esplin- Comm 130 Program(s)/ Tools: Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop Objectives: I wanted to create a fun, modern montage, and different approach to an inspirational poster. Audrey Hepburn as a fun and inspiring role model for women. Process: I found 3 images online that could blend well but had subtle differences. I then placed the busiest image for the background. After cutting Audreys face from the original image, I placed and sized it on the 8.5x11 document. Finally I placed the geometric image over her face and using the brush tool covered the image in white where I didnt want the geometric pattern to touch.

Brochure
Description: Create a two-sided (duplex) color brochure Date: March 31, 2014 Course Instructor: Caryn Esplin- Comm 130 Program(s)/ Tools: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign Objectives: I wanted to design a brochure that fit the business model. Fun, whimsical, but sophisticated. I obtained that by creating a simple and elegant brochure. Process: Using the images from the owner I placed them accordingly to keep the brochure readable while still using 10+ photos. I accomplished wellused origination by applying InDesigns great grid system and also paragraph styles. The brochure has an off-centered fold to create an interesting and unique experience for the user. Even though I used 266 words- I was able to give enough information, but not too much so that the customer would turn to the website/ contact information for pricing and booking.

Tools used pen tool, shape tool. For the HTML and CSS web page we used Text Wrangler and W3 school validator to validate the web page. Objectives: Re size and save image for web using a PNG file. Write content, write HTML and style using CSS- identifying HEX colors, validated HTML & CSS, and compressed files to send to future employer. Process: After picking a logo for the web page, I wrote content for the design process and design decisions. I then proceeded to write HTML & CSS. Business Card
Description: Using a personally taken photo, edit and format using Photoshop. Date: March 1 2014 Course Instructor: Caryn Esplin- Comm 130 Program(s)/ Tools: Adobe Illustrator Objectives: Design a consistent layout with the letterhead to create a business card including a logo and contact information. Process: Once the letterhead was complete. I focused on consistency with the business card. The size was a little bit of a challenge, because there wasnt as much white space as the letterhead, but I made up for that with making the back of the business card more fun and more colorful. I found the using Illustrator was a very good option for this project, but I would be comfortable in the other programs as well!

Using Microsofts tools were a challenge for me, but I learned so much during this project.
