AND MATLAB SIMULATION
SUPERVISOR Mr. HAMID HAKIMAZARI
IN QPSK TWO bit i.e dibits are clocked in to the bit splitter . after two bits have been serially
inputted they are simultaneously out putted .
PHASE SHIFT KEYING OR PSK IS A DIGITAL MODULATION TECHNIQUE THAT
CONVEYS DATA BY CHANGING OR MODULATING THE PHASE OF THE CARRIER
WAVES .QPSK modulator is two BPSK modulator combined in parallel. QPSK is a common type
of phase modulation . used in applications including CDMA(CODE DIVISION MULTIPLE
ACCESS)cellular services for reverse link mobile to base , wireless local loop , iridium ( a voice
data satellite system) and DVB-S (DIGITAL VIDEO BROADCASTING SATELLITE),cable
modems , cables(return path)e.t.c
Comment on how you might evaluate your own the research goals:
WE HAVE TO STUDY THE COMPONENTS IN THE LABORATORY AND HAVE TO
MODULATE THE CARRIER WAVE AND DEMODULATE IT USING THE QPSK AT THE
TRANSMITTER AND THE RECIEVER . USING THE CODECS WE HAVE TO MODULATE
THE CARRIER WAVE AND RECEIVE OR DEMODULATE IT . WE HAVE TO DO THE
CONNECTIONS IN THE CIRCUIT USING THE BLOCK DIAGRAM AND SOME
COMPENENTS .
THIS TYPE OF MODULATION CAN BE USED IN THE TRANSMISSION OF THE CARRIER
WAVE IN CDMA AND ALSO IN SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS BECAUSE IT
ENABLES HAVING A SIGNAL THAT IS LITTLE SENSITIVE TO INTERFERENCE WITH A
CORRECT SYMBOL RATE .
MATLAB/Simulink to verify and validate the modulator specifications. The modulator is consists
of carrier source to produce a periodic pulse signal (carrier f ), fed to a carrier phase shifter; which
shift the input carrier into four different phase signals (0°, 90°, 180°, 270°) interfaced to
multiplexer. While the data source was generated with PN_suqance, fed to data mapping to generate
I and Q signals to influence the four phase different carries. The output is selected by multiplexer
which provides digital QPSK signal, this signal filtered with analogue filter before transmitted to
pass fundamental frequency and eliminates the higher frequencies associated with the square
signal.
Concise outline of the Research Methodology you plan to use:
Biomedical implant telemetry devices are increasingly applied today in various areas in
medical applications, such as telemedicine, biotelemetry, and health medical care
treatments for chronic diseases epilepsy and blindness patients; which are using
wireless infrastructure environment .wireless implant telemetry (TWIT).Wireless
inductive coupling link is common way for transfer the RF power and data to
communicate between readers and a battery-less implant Demand for higher data rate
for the acquisition data returned from the body are increasing, and require an efficient
modulator to achieve high transfer rate and low power consumption. In such applications
QPSK modulation has advantages over other schemes, and double symbol rate with
respect to the BPSK over the same spectrum band. Contrast to analogue modulators for
generating QPSK signals, where the circuit complexity and power dissipation
Discuss briefly any equipment you might require, or any data sets with
which to commence expedition of the research project:
Matlab software required for the implementations of the qpsk modulation
and demodulation . Laboratory equipmetnts like the low pass filters and
bandpass filters , local oscillators ,connection wires , codecs etc.
What knowledge and skills do you have that will be most relevant here?
