by Ain167267 on Mon Mar 31, 2014 4:56 pm Child abuse is the physical, sexual or emotional maltreatment or neglect of a child or children. Recently, there are many cases regarding children abuse was reported by social media and newspaper. Malaysians should be concerned about the rise in child abuse and more should be done to protect children. This generation of abused children will suffer from serious, long-term psychological trauma. There are several ways to reduce the cases of child abuse. Firstly, as a part of society we should report suspected child abuse and neglect. Abuse is not just a personal matter because the hidden cost of child abuse has great impact on our society, the community and the economy. Only a small percentage of victim eventually report abuse despite enduring years of torture. Children also hardly ever abused only once. If you suspect it, you must report it. For instance, if you think a child from your neighborhood is being sexually, physically or emotionally abuse, you must report it to the police immediately. This is to prevent it from become worst. Secondly, be a volunteer at a local child abuse prevention program. This is another way to get involved in the fight against children abuse. Unite for Children (UNICEF) for example have their own programs which raise funds and awareness for children abuse. Without these tireless volunteers, we would not be able to help the children who are being

abuse by their parents or guardians. For example, if UNICEF organizes a program like campaign prevention children abuse, you can be a volunteer for that program. Finally, we should organize a program in school. School is one of the places that the children can gain knowledge. We can help the school in our community by being the source of education about child abuse, not just mathematics or science. For example, organize a talk about child abuse in a school nearby. From this program, the children will expose about the abuse and what they should do when they are being abuse. To sum up, as a part of society, these are the ways we can do to reduce the cases of child abuse. by Nastasya169140 on Mon Mar 31, 2014 4:57 pm In my opinion, there are some parents or guardians do the child abuse purposely and some of them dont mean to do child abuse but it look like abuse. As an example, a case happened to Malaysian couple from Sweden. In my side of view, those parents are not meant to abuse their children but want teach them a lessons. However it was misunderstood by the Sweden. Meanwhile, for parents or guardians who intentional abuse the child/children under their care it might be something wrong with that parents or guardians. As example, adults who suffered abuse or ill treatment in childhood are more likely to abuse their own children because the family model they grew up. If parents grew up with harsh methods of discipline, they may be more prone to violence. This is because they want repeat the behaviors they learned themselves as children. Besides that, parents tend to commit abuses against their children because of stress. Parenting is not an easy task and makes them stressful. Parents without support from family and friends may be more likely to abuse their children. As instance, the children that have too much red can make the parents feel stressed and prone to commit abuses against their children. But in their side of view, it just a lessons for the children. Lastly, children abuse might happen because of lack in parenting skill. Parents lack of knowledge of childhood development may result in unreasonable expectations. Lack of parenting skills and inappropriate attitudes can contribute to abusive behavior, like, do violence as a way to solve problems. For instance, unwanted pregnancy can make a parents dont care about the parenting skill. Thus, it make them dont empathize with their children and substantially increase the child/children abuse. As conclusion, parents or guardians who abuse the child/children under their care should have counselling to improve their self as a parents or guardians. by aida169840 on Mon Mar 31, 2014 4:59 pm Nowadays, cases of child abuse becomes common to our society as if it was normal thing to happen. However, as a part of society, we should involve in reducing this negative value. The foremost way to avoid the case from being a viral is by ensuring the parents have sufficient education mostly in their religion. It is because, a good religion practitioner will absolutely become a good parent and good society member. Moreover, every religion in this world encourage good values mostly love. Hence, a loving parents is a good parents. Besides, by giving parents in our society parental counselling, it is also an alternative way to reduce child abuse case in our society. By attending this counselling program, parents either father or mother will have enlightenment to what really are their roles as a father and a mother. In addition, they will learn about the effective techniques in educating their children. Therefore, in conclusion, we as one society should cooperate to prevent this negative value from being a viral and destroys our nation. aida169840 Posts: 4 Joined: Thu Mar 06, 2014 7:42 pm Private message Top Previous Display posts from previous: All posts Post a reply 33 posts Page 4 of 4 1, 2, 3, 4 Return to Group 19 Jump to:
