Oracle Negotiations sends the following E-mail notifications to recipients associated with buyers auctions and RFQs created and managed within the network. The summary and E-mail text included in this section are of Buyers Auction. The E-mails are identical for RFQs. The only change is the reference to RFQ instead of the Buyers auction.

3.1 Buyers Auction/RFQ Creation Confirmation

3.1.1 Summary of E-mail notification Recipient: auctioneer (buyer) When: a buyer creates an auction and invites registered companies to participate, at the time of auction opening for review or bidding, whichever occurs earlier. 6 How to Customize the Body of Negotiation E-Mail Notifications

Version 6.2.1 of the Oracle Network engine allows system operators to customize the body of negotiations E-mail notifications. The options available and their usage are explained in the table below.

6.1 Customize Online

The system operator can customize terminology and notifications online. This process is fast and very effective for small number of replacements. The procedure is described and relevant screen shots are provided below. 6.1.1 Procedure 1. 2. 3. Log in as the system operator and click on the "Configuration" tab. Click on the "Customize Text" link under the "User Interface" category. (Please refer Picture 1). Select the language version you wish to customize from the "Language" drop down menu. Text customizations apply only to a particular language version. Users of other languages do not see the customized text. Select which text set you wish to search from the "Text Type" drop down menu. You can search for text strings among existing customizations, the default text, or both. Enter a search value in the "Text Value" data field. The search value will be the text that you want to customize. You do not have to enclose the string in quotes. You can enter a partial value, and you can use a percent sign as a wild card character. Searches are not case sensitive. For more details on searching, click the Search Tips link. When you have entered your search string, click the "Go" button. The "Text Search Results" page displays. This display has four columns (Please refer Picture 2).

Identify the string you wish to change by clicking the "Select" checkbox to its left. You can change all occurrences of the text string by clicking the "Select All" link at the top left corner of the "Text Search Results" display. If you mistakenly select all occurrences, you can deselect them by clicking the "Clear All" link. Once you have chosen all the text string occurrences you wish to modify, click the "Customize" button. The Enter New Text page appears. The display shows the default text value and any customization of that text that has already been made. Enter your change in the "New Text" data field (Please refer Picture 3). Click the "Submit" button. The Confirmation page appears indicating that you have successfully modified the text string. The modification is seen immediately by anyone using the same language version.

6.2 Customize by Spreadsheet

The system operator can download all the messages used in the Oracle Network for a particular language in a delimited format and import it into a spreadsheet program like Excel. The operator can then make changes and upload it back for changes to take affect. In addition allows search and filtering of text that are of particular category (ex. Filter all Buyers auction text). 6.2.1 Procedure 1. The delimited file used to customize can be downloaded from the Oracle Network by searching for all text type in the Customize Text page and clicking the Download All Search Results button. (Please refer Picture 4) The downloaded zip file contains the following documents. Document Custom_text_US.txt Description A tab delimited text file where the default messages are stored and text can be customized. An html file that gives instructions to modify text in the spreadsheet.

You can filter text of a particular category by choosing options as described below. Identify the text that needs customization in the Default Text column. Enter the customized text in the New Text column against the default text. 7. Save the file in tab-delimited format. Now the file with the text customization file is ready for upload. 8. Log in as the system operator. Click on the Configuration header tab and then on the Customize text link under User Interface heading in the left column. 9. Under the Customize Text heading, look for If you have already downloaded a file and want to upload it back, click here. 10. Click and browse to upload the file. Press Start Load Now after browsing. A confirmation page appears when the changes have been saved. Your customizations take effect immediately. Note: the order is very important. Unless indicated, all the "replace all" are case sensitive. Examples are provided for Buyers and Sellers auctions at the end of the document 6.2.2 Important Notes Consider the following points before customizing. Do not change the file format or remove/delete/change any information in the file. If the text that you choose to modify contains special characters (eg. \n, \r or ") you have to include them in your customized text. For customizations in multiple web pages, as in case of multiple languages, you have to repeat the process for each language and choose the appropriate language option before uploading the file. When using Microsoft Excel (or equivalent software), some messages may exceed the cell width Please modify so the message fits the cell. If the same text appears in multiple locations in the network and you desire to change it in all locations, you have to enter the customization text for all the line items. If at any later time you wish to revert back to the default text, you may do so by querying the customized text in the "Customize Text" page and clicking on the "Undo" button.

6.2.4 Suggested Replacement Order The replacement order is useful in that only the words that needs to be replaced are changed are not others. Longer words are replaced first so words that are part of other bigger words are not affected. (E.g.
