1.

Objective of the Experiment

The objective of the experiment is to measure the resistance of color coded resistor and potentiometer using a DMM, calculated value using a color coded resistor and potentiometer chart and compare results. 2. To measure the resistance at various turn on a DMM Calculated the resistor using chart Compare the measure and calculated resistance of the resistor Theory

In theory, the measured and calculated value should be the same or within a limited range. The device should give a more accurate reading compared to a calculated value.

3.

List of Equipment Used

Potentiometer DMM or Amp-meter Positive and negative cable Various resistors

4.

Procedure

We collected the above items to measure a potentiometer using a DMM to see the measured reading after a counter clock wise, 1/3 clock wise and2/3 clock wise turn. We measured and calculate the collected color coded resistors value and compared measured value from the DMM. We measured the one and three node, as well as the two and three node.

6.

Analysis of Data

The lab experience met expectations. The data measured and calculated were acceptable values. Over all, the lab expert was a success.

7.

Discussion of Results

The data measured and calculated confirms the devices are calibrated and are working properly. The data measured and calculated findings confirmed the color coded resistors are label correctly. Also, the data determined which resistors must be discarded.

8.

Conclusions

In conclusion the experiments confirmed the theory the measured and calculated value should be the same or within a limited range. The device should give a more accurate reading compared to a calculated value. The data measured and calculated confirms the devices are working properly. The data measured and calculated confirms the color coded resistors are label correctly. Finally, the data determined which resistors must be discarded.
