Inspire convenes at Tulsa center


Dont miss the annual Entrepreneurs Inspire Conference on April 8 at the Tulsa Cox Center. It will bring together male and female entrepreneurs wanting to start a business or grow existing ones, and those who seek to innovate within their corporations. The daylong conference is sponsored by the Oklahoma State University Riata Center for Entrepreneurship. Local and national entrepreneurial role models and speakers will discuss their failures and successes. More than 750 entrepreneurs and 30 acclaimed speakers will be in attendance. Keynote speaker will be Lauren Bush Lauren, founder and CEO of FEED Projects, a company with the mission of creating good products that help feed the world. FEED Projects was founded in 2007 and every product sold has a measurable donation attached to it. Over the past five years, FEED has donated more than $6 million and provided nearly 60 million meals globally through the U.N. World Food Program. Another speaker, David Wilk, is cofounder of Four Day Weekend, a critically acclaimed and nationally recognized improvisational comedy troupe. He and his crew will take the audience inside the world of improvisational comedy and offer a guide on how to combine creativity with commerce to be a successful leader and entrepreneur. A variety of breakout sessions are geared toward a number of different entrepreneurial concentrations. Extreme Racing coming to Remington Park


OKLAHOMA CITY Extreme Racing with zebras, camels and ostriches will be back at Remington Park on April 27 as part of the American quarter horse and mixed-breed racing. Racing begins at 1:30 p.m., with camels, ostriches and zebras competing for the Winners Circle, in one race each, throughout the afternoon. In 2013, Extreme Racing attracted more than 26,000 people. Dale Day, track announcer, said there are additional extreme activities being added to Sundays in April, all of which will culminate with Extreme Racing Day on the final Sunday. In addition to the exotic animals, the day also will include a 21-inch miniature horse as well as multiple pig races on the Plaza. Extreme Racing will be the conclusion to Extreme Sundays hosted by Remington Park throughout the month of April. Sponsored by the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association, this years Extreme Racing also includes a community-involvement portion. Each exotic animalprofessional jockey combination will be paired with a celebrity disc jockey trainer and an Oklahoma-based nonprofit organization. The winning animals nonprofit organization will receive a $1,000 donation from Remington Park in the camel, ostrich and zebra races. The benefiting organizations include American Heart Association, Easter Seals Oklahoma, Family Awareness and Community Teamwork, Freedom School, New View Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Oklahoma City Chapter for Juvenile Diabetes, Oklahoma Special Olympics, Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, Rein In Cancer, Royal Family Kids, Skys the Limit Ranch Staff report and Bella Foundation.

MidFirst buys CHK properties

Retired Justice Hargrave dies


OKLAHOMA CITY Retired Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Rudolph Hargrave died Tuesday at age 89. The office of Chief Justice Tom Colbert confirmed Hargraves death.

Supreme Court officials said plans for funeral services for Hargrave have not been announced. Hargrave was born in Shawnee on Feb. 15, 1925, and lived in Wewoka. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Hargrave served as a county and district judge in Seminole County from 1964 until 1978, when he was appointed to the states highest court by then-Gov.
