Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:14pm by President Brandon Bellamy. Invocation: The invocation was given by Chaplain Brandon Bellamy. Reading of the Previous Minutes: The June and September meeting minutes were read this meeting and one correction was made (Sandra Mooney changed to Sonja Mooney); one request was made to increase the font size. Motion to pass set forth by William Lash, seconded by Aaron Sturdivant. Passed Financial Report: The chapter is still in need of a financial secretary. Financial report was read by Treasurer Dina Brown and no changes were made. Motion set forth and passed to accept report. Treasurers Report: The treasurers report was read by Dina Brown and no changes were made. Correspondence: No correspondence were received this month and read by Sydney Stinson: Board of Directors: The BOD did not hold a formal meeting. A report was read by Brandon Bellamy. A concern was raised by members about this matter. Motion set forth and passed with majority vote. (2 nays) Standing Committees (only additional points aside from the written reports): Benevolence: No changes to the report. Annual Giving: No changes to the report. Membership: No changes to the report. A question was raised about determining the location of membership events. The chair fielded questions and made time after the meeting to discuss further. Scholarship & Student Recruitment: No changes to the report. Suggestions were made to send out packages to all DCPS and general dates were given. A question of the amount that could be given out in a year was asked and answered ($15,000). Social and Recreation, Community Service: No changes to the report. Special Committee Reports: Chaplains Report: No changes to the report. Rebuild! Aggie House Renovation: William Lash gave report and questions and comments were fielded. The summary of the questions and comments are as follows: The Rebuild committee needs money to start the renovations and while the entire renovation time is undetermined, the roof is the priority. William will look into what insurance will cover as well as explore monetary pledges from Aggies. The Alumni members will continue to explore local Aggie for needs. An email will be sent out regarding the meeting times and dates. New Business: Natl Alumni Association Updates: Dr. Bennett announced that alumni will be receiving an electronic survey in the next week on alumni attitudes. Homecoming 2013: Sonja Mooney went over the schedule of events for the 2013 Homecoming and fielded questions. She also solicited volunteers for various events during Homecoming. 67 Years and Still Growing Whats our future?: Brandon gave an overview of the history of the chapter and its hopes for the future. Remarks of Good Association: Darryl Foster announced that the Sigmas of Woodbridge would be hosting a party November 9, 2013 @ 10:00pm. The cost is $10. Sonja Mooney announced that the Alumni Dance this month will be in conjunction with the A&T Alumni Band. Brandon Bellamy announced that the DC Chapter T-Shirts can be ordered tonight. Announcements: Aggie Athletic Foundation: No announcements. Aggie Tags: No updates. Birthdays and First Time Attendees: October birthdays were recognized. First Time Attendees: 1. Annual Giving Committee Report

Purpose of the Committee: This committee is responsible for raising individual and chapter donations which will be sent to North Carolina A&T State University. The chapter contribution will support the chapters scholarship. Goals of the Committee: To raise and donate money for the 2013-2014 Annual Giving Campaign through individual and Chapter donations. Points of Discussion: Accepting members to join the committee. This committee is looking for passionate, positive and enthusiastic individuals who will be committed to the goal of creatively raising significant donations in support of FY14. Progress to Date: 101 alumni and friends have donated $70,177 to the 2013-14 Annual Giving campaign. A&T is the Tom Joyner Foundation School of the month for October. o Any gift made directly to the Tom Joyner Foundation Inc., in support of the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University School of the Month Campaign for October, cannot be receipted nor acknowledged by North Carolina A&T o To receive gift credit and gift acknowledgement from the university on behalf of your gift to the Tom Joyner Foundation Inc., in support of A&T, you must make a gift directly to A&T. All gifts made in support of A&T for the School of the Month Campaign for October must be received by December 31, 2013. o If you have questions, please call the A&T Office of Development at 336-334-7600, or call toll-free at 1-888-248-2821. Donation forms for the universitys Annual Giving campaign are available and donations in the form of cash or checks (payable to NC A&T Foundation) are accepted during chapter meetings. Remember all gifts to the university are tax deductible. Consider donating to A&T as part of your year-end donations. Areas of priority include: student scholarships, alumni association and athletics. Please designate your gifts for maximum impact! Previous Events:
Saturday November 16, 2013 Volunteering at the SHARE Food Network Thank you to the six Aggies who were up and out at 7am at the SHARE Warehouse in Hyattsville. Friday December 6, 2013 NC Coalition Holiday Social (NCCU, NCSU & UNC) Thank you to everyone who supported this event. The chapter did not use any funds to support this event. The Coalition made a donation of $250 to Jirehs Place along with various school supplies. Additionally, the chapter received $300 in revenue. Adopt an Angel: Salvation Army Donations Thank you to everyone who was able to donate gifts and monetary donations to support our two angels. Jan 15, 2014 - Sober Happy Hour: November and December has been very busy and packed full of events. Thank you to all who have supported them.

What is the Sober Happy Hour? o Instead of braving the cold, metro delays and parking tickets stay home! Take a break from the bar scene but our wallets wont take a break. How do I participate in the Sober Happy Hour? o On Wednesday January 15 visit www.wdc-ncatalumni.org and click on the Donate button. o Make a donation to one of the chapters funds with the amount you would have spent at Happy Hour. How will we know if its successful? o On Friday January 17 we will announce the total raised from the Sober Happy Hour via www.wdc-ncatalumni.org. o Just think... if 50 people give $10 thats $500 to support the DC Chapter.

Call for Help: The Social, Recreation and Community Service committee needs assistance in programming
for the chapter. The chapter leadership has made it a priority that we engage in more community service activities and develop more family-friendly activities. Please speak to any member of the committee or email social-rec@wdc-ncatalumni.org if you are interested in volunteering.
