Please read through all instructions before you start knitting. If you have questions or there are errors, please let me know via the email address above as this is just a hobby for me, I do not charge for patterns. I try to make
sure there are no errors, but mistakes do happen. I only estimate yarn because when I knit the item after I have made the pattern I do so with scrap yarn.

This is a very easy Poncho to make. I am sure you have seen these patterns all over the place. It is basically two rectangle panels seamed
together. This item is hand and machine knit. The panels are machine knit and the border and neck are knit by hand.
3) Change to your yarn and Knit to row 269 and mark this row on both panels

After you have put the poncho together, directions below, you knit up the neck band by picking up stitches. Pick up stitches in the neck area
and shoulder area, so you dividing the opening in half and knitting in two sections and then seaming by hand. The sections run across the
front of the neck and up to each side as far as the shoulders and there is a front and back half to knit.
1) Divide the sections in the front half and the back half.
4) You then seam together the two areas at the shoulder by hand to connect the BACK neck band to the FRONT neck band. Remember,
I would recommend doing a border on the poncho by hand in a plain crochet stitch. I cannot figure out a way to do this on the machine as it is
longer than the needle bed. I would also recommend running the border 3 to 4 times around the bottom of the poncho as it gives it a nice
sturdy finish. You can then hang a fringe if you wish or leave it plain.
Poncho Assembly
1) I would first steam each panel in shape so that they are the same size. You should do this on a Blocking Board that allows you to pin the
panels with measurements to make sure they are the same size. Let the panels cool and sit overnight.
2) Even thought they are the same size, you will have a Panel 1 and a Panel 2.
3) Place both panels on the floor, right side up with the bottom of Panel 1 towards you
4) Move Panel 2 to sit perpendicular to Panel 1. The Bottom of Panel 1 hits the RIGHT side of Panel 2 against the marker at row 269 to the
5) Then fold the panels and abut the top of Panel 2 to the left edge of Panel 1, between the bottom and the marker on row 269. Seam this
