Take your Bible in your hand, and turn to the middle book. It is the book of Psalms. This is not only true physically, but in a spiritual sense, it is true also. This book is central in human experience. It is a book in which ass the emotions of the human soul find expression. You will never experience anything that is not described in the book of Psalms. hen you face deep sorrow, you will find consolation in this Book. hen your heart overflows with !oy, you may best express it by the words from the Psalms. In the Psalms, you will read the cry of the penitent sinner, and you will find the everflowing worship of an adoring saint. I" the book of Psalms, you will find #od revealed, and man described. You will know as never before that man is finite, and #od is infinite. It is a book that looks back to learn, looks around to see, and looks ahead in hope. It is preeminently the worship book of the 'ebrew people, and consists of a collection of songs which express the attitude of the soul in the presence of #od, when contemplating past history, existing conditions, or prophetic hopes.
