The BeliefCloset Process
The BeliefCloset Process is a tool for changing or improving any aspect
of your life. You decide where to apply it.
Beliefs are at the foundation at the core of our life experience. The
BeliefCloset Process is a new and creative approach to freeing yourself from
unwanted experiences by dissolving (layer by layer) emotional and somatic
anchors that hold your negative beliefs in place. When a BeliefCloset
Practitioner facilitates your session, deep transformation occurs. You enter
a space in which you can renew yourself completely.
Use the BeliefCloset Process to remove resistance, blocks or barriers standing
in the way of your goals and projects. Use it to eliminate pain and suering
from the past. Use it to open doors to new opportunities, and to manifest
your dreams.
The BeliefCloset Process invites all aspects of you mental, emotional,
physical, spiritual, and creative to work together to transform your
psychological set point: the inner structure of your personality, set in place
during your rst years of life.
Human experience is multi-sensory and multidimensional. Beliefs are
formed fromthe same experience stu. In order to be eective and
permanent, a process for deleting old beliefs must be both multi-sensory
and multidimensional. Belief-change techniques that use conscious
thoughts to break beliefs apart dont impact the subconscious mind where
beliefs are rooted. If you cut the top o a weed, it grows back. Beliefs are
similar they resurface if you havent deleted them from the underground
of your subconscious.
Inside the BeliefCloset, your subconscious mind is invited to come out and
play. This gently unlocks the tethers that have bound you to your negative
and limiting beliefs. When your beliefs are eliminated at the core, you are left

We want our lives to be better or dierent. We have a long list of our needs,
wants and desires. We envision a better life where we have more of what we
want and less of what we dont want. This desire motivates us to explore new
territory. All great discoveries have come from this inner drive.

Whenever we decide to change our life for the better, something gets
in the way. Blocks and barriers prevent us frommoving forward:
I want a great relationship, but I cant nd the right partner.
I want a better job, but I cant nd a good one.
I want to make more money, but the economy is in the tank.
I want more clients, but I hate doing the marketing.
I want to lose weight, but I cant stay on my diet.
I want to move my project forward, but Im not taking action.
Limitations, blocks and barriers appear in the world, or from within, out of
your control. Opportunities for change seem limited or non-existent.
Heres an uncomfortable truth:
Every limitation, block and barrier you experience
is produced by a limiting belief inside of you.
You adopted each of your beliefs for a very good reason at the time. Most of
your beliefs were indoctrinated into you by your parents, teachers or
friends. You may have come to conclusions about yourself based on your
experiences. You formed some beliefs in reaction to someone else.
Regardless of their source, theyve been preventing you from living your life
as a full expression of your True Self.
Here are three important facts about beliefs:
1) Beliefs operate like tiny reality-creating machines. Once a belief
is created, it continually creates its reality until it is consciously
destroyed or eliminated from your subconscious mind.
2) We have thousands of beliefs stored in our subconscious. They
operate invisibly in the background, creating and ltering our
experience of life and the world.
3) Beliefs can be permanently eliminated and replaced if you
involve the conscious mind, the subconscious mind, and the super-
conscious mind simultaneously.
I can now change any limiting belief into an empowering belief as soon as it
comes up. I can accomplish any goal by using the BeliefCloset Process to quickly

What could you accomplish if you were free
from the limitations, blocks, and barriers
that hold you back from expressing your

If you want to change your outer circumstances (your work, your nancial
situation, your relationships, etc.), you need to change your internal state.
How you feel, what you think, and how you react to the situations and
people around you are determined by your beliefs. Your attitude, your focus
of attention, and the energetic signals you put out to others are all
determined by the beliefs stored in your subconscious mind. If you feel
limited in any way, you have beliefs that are limiting you. In order to change
any aspect of your life or circumstances, you must rst change your beliefs.
If youve studied the Law of Attraction, this is what the law refers to. The
circumstances you nd yourself in, and the situations that happen to you,
are created (or attracted) by what you believe about yourself and the world.
You may be saying: Okay, ne. My beliefs aect my reality. So how

Human awareness and behavior have been studied for thousands of years,
but theres a problem: When you study the mind, you must examine it with
your mind. You look at your beliefs through the lens of your own beliefs. To
get out of this conundrum, you must rst examine the nature of beliefs, then
examine your own beliefs. Beliefs are part of the vast and innite realmof
Consciousness. This realmcontains innite opportunities for learning, growth,
and discovery, as well as endless opportunities for errors and mistakes.
When you investigate your own beliefs, and nd out where they came from,
you take on the job of a jewel miner (complete with hard hat and headlamp)
working underground. You dig into your own subconscious to nd the actual
reasons why you are the way you are, and why the same patterns keep
repeating in your life. As you bring each rough crystal to the surface, you can
cut and polish it, turning it into something shining and valuable. This is a
good analogy for what youll be doing inside your BeliefCloset: discovering
old beliefs hidden underground, bringing them up to the light, and turning
them into something valuable for your life. By doing so, you will become
the master of your fate rather than a victimof it.
When you bring a subconscious belief up to the conscious level, you can
examine it in detail, feel how its aected you throughout your life, and make
a conscious decision whether to keep it or discard it. You wont throw away
all your beliefs, only the ones that are: 1) harmful to you or others; 2) holding
you back from expressing your magnicence; or 3) interfering with the
manifestation of your Life Purpose.
As you study your beliefs and how they aect your reality, your perspective
gets broader and higher. New possibilities open. Its as if youve maneuvered
through your whole life with a local street map. One day, a friend hands you
an international atlas lled with maps of the world. Your orientation shifts.
New worlds open. You know where you are, and you can decide where you
want to go.
Heres a secret no one ever told you: its easy to change your reality.
Because our beliefs create our reality, all you have to do is let go of the beliefs
that have been creating what you dont want in your life, and replace them
with beliefs that create what you do want. With each belief transformation,
your life turns more and more toward success, love, happiness, health and
purposeful work.
Can you come out and play?
Your subconscious mind is playful. It enjoys make-believe, imagining and
creating. Remember how it felt as a child when a friend knocked on your
door and said, Can you come out and play?Thats how your subconscious
feels in the Belief Closet. The process is fun, creative and playful. Come out
and play!

What are beliefs?
Most people think of beliefs as repeated thoughts or convictions, or a way to
describe whats true about the world. Beliefs are seen as mental constructs or
a cognitive process. But beliefs go much deeper than our thoughts, our
interpretations, or our ideas about the world.
We use the term beliefs to describe one of the essential building blocks of
human experience. They are the Lego blocks we use to build our lives. Beliefs
are behind our experience, perceptions, emotions, thoughts, and energy.
Were pointing to the wiring underneath the circuit board this is the way
the mind is structured. Beliefs actually create our experiences.
Heres the new definition:
Beliefs are the alphabet we use to
create the language of our experience.

Indoctrination and Socialization
Infants are biologically programmed to acquire the beliefs of their parents,
caretakers and elders.
This built-in mechanism helped us survive in a dangerous, uncertain world.
We are social creatures. Our survival depends on being cared for by our
family, group, and community. The more we become like those around us,
the better our chances for survival. In the ancient past, if an infant was too
dierent from the group, it could be pushed out to face certain death. At
the biological level, belonging to the group and believing our elders is
a matter of life or death.
The accumulation of beliefs began while we were in the womb. Our body grew
inside the electromagnetic and electrochemical eld of our mother. We knew,
felt and sensed her emotional state. If she produced stress or fear hormones,
we were bathed in those chemicals. We got our rst sense of the world while
still inside our mothers belly: I amsafe, or I amnot safe. I amwanted, or
I amnot wanted. Of course, we didnt yet have words or language, so these
beliefswere body-based sensations, reactions, and feelings.
After being pushed out of our safe womb-home into the bright and
dangerous world, job #1 became survival. An infant is like a tiny scientist
trying to gure out howto navigate in a newworld where nothing is known.
Babies observe their parents to determine what will please them. Our brain
contains millions of mirror neurons that enable us to feel, mimic and copy what
we see around us. Mommy smiled down at us, and we smiled back. Like any
good scientist, you came to conclusions after making observations. When I
cry, I get my needs met. When I laugh, I get attention and love. These early
conclusions were our earliest beliefs. They are non-verbal, somatic experiences
that organize our behavior. We gure out the world, step by step, one
belief at a time.

As soon as you joined your new family, your parents and caretakers began to
load you up with their beliefs. What a darling little girl. Her name is Sandra.
She is so cute! Your subconscious mind was a recording device in this early
stage of development. The programs went right in without resistance: I ama
darling little girl. My name is Sandra. I amcute.
Historically, babies were seen as empty containers to be lled rather than
complete, whole, growing human beings. Your parents wanted you to
survive, so they taught you what they believed was right and wrong: Dont
put that in your mouth its dirty! What a mess youve made! Good girl! Bad
boy! Stop that! Whats wrong with you?
As you grew, you were taught, via rewards and punishments, how to perform
to your parents expectations: Heres howto do it. No, thats wrong. What a
good student you are! Dont ever do that again!
If you experienced traumas of any kind during childhood, very strong
beliefs were anchored deep in your psyche. Did you experience any of
these traumas?
I didnt get the love or care I needed.
I was abandoned, ignored, or left alone at times.
I experienced physical, emotional, or sexual domination or abuse.
I suered an injury or illness.
I lost a beloved family member, friend, relative, or pet.
I was physically or emotionally invaded.
I experienced extensive or repeated pain.
If so, you tried to gure out what was happening and how to stop it. Children
cannot nd fault with their parents, who are seen as Gods. Most children
conclude, Theres something wrong with me. They often conclude: I amnot
lovable.
Other beliefs were poured into you fromevery direction. Siblings may
have treated you like you dropped from the sky to screw up their lives.
Images and messages from radio and TV (the beliefs of our culture) were fed
to you along with your baby food. You learned to imitate speech and to
name objects. Language was a skill you eagerly wanted to master. Every
word, name and label was one more belief added to the pile. What we call
learning is more like programming a constant, relentless pressure to shape
ourselves to t into the world of other people. Everyone wanted to help you
look, talk and be like them. They generously helped you t in programming
you with their beliefs.
Then, you went to school. Another structured set of beliefs got laid in: The
doggie says bow-wow. If you dont sit still, youll get in trouble. Its better to be
smart than dumb. Girls should be nice. If you want to speak, raise your hand.
Some animals are dangerous. Pilgrims were good. Indians were bad.

If your parents brought you to their church, mosque, or synagogue, you
were told what to believe about God, the World, and Life: This is what God is.
This is whats true. Religious beliefs were to be accepted on faith never
questioned. In the past, if you questioned religious authorities, you were
tortured or killed. Today, you get pushed out ejected from the group. To the
ego, this is a fate worse than death. It takes courage to question our religious
programming.
You were indoctrinated by those who loved you. They wanted you to
believe as they believed. Their beliefs worked for them, and they believed
that their beliefs would work equally well for you. For them, their beliefs were
simply: What is true.
Indoctrinated means that doctrines (beliefs) are literally poured into you.
On top of all this early programming, you grew up inside an information-
based culture. Advertisers programmed you with beliefs about every
product they wanted you to buy. Television, radio, magazines, billboards, and
computer screens have fed you new beliefs during every waking moment:
Buy this and youll be happy!
If you use this product, people will like you.
If you own one of these, others will see you as successful.
Crime is rampant. Life is dangerous.
Its Good vs. Evil out there, and Good always overcomes Evil.
Conicts are best solved with sts or guns.
This pill will stop your pain and make everything wonderful.

From time to time, you gured things out on your own. You came to your
own conclusions, programming yourself with new beliefs:
If I act like those kids, Ill be popular.
Nobody likes me.
I dont belong.
Im all alone.
Its better to be pretty than smart.
I want to be famous and rich like they are.
I dont believe in an old man with a beard in the sky.
Each belief fell into your open mind like a snowake in a snowstorm. Tiny
and unique, it clumped together with similar others. As you learned and
grew, your belief-pile stacked up higher and higher. All of the older ones got
pushed down into your subconscious mind.
Over your lifetime, your subconscious accumulated tens of thousands of
beliefs. You live with the weight of this collection. You can probably feel it in
your shoulders, your face, or throughout your whole body.
You see the world through your beliefs. Everything looks consistent, and it
makes some kind of sense. You rarely question your fundamental beliefs
because they are transparent to you. Thats just the way life is. Thats just
howI am.
A Message to Inner Explorers
Youre already an explorer of the inner realms. You may have gone to
therapists, practiced yoga and meditation, or attended transformational
workshops. You already know that change is possible. Youve moved yourself
forward, step by step. Youve freed yourself from bad habits, created better
relationships, and developed a healthier lifestyle. When you examine the
progress youve made thus far, youll notice that your greatest growth
involved changing some of your old beliefs.
You may also have noticed that some of your patterns havent changed in
spite of your best eorts. Some of your old bad habits are still around. You fall
into old ways of thinking and behavior even though you know theyre not
good for you (or those around you).
Beliefs are deeply ingrained. Theyre sticky. Until theyre permanently
deleted, they continue to operate in the background. With the BeliefCloset

Investigating Your Deepest Beliefs:
Who am I? What is life? Where am I going?
Your answer to the question, Who amI? is a description of the core beliefs
you hold about yourself. These beliefs form your self-view the way you
see yourself. For example, your beliefs about your capabilities and limitations
determines the range of possibilities available to you. If you say, Ill never
learn to play the piano, youre right. If you say, I can learn to play the piano,
youre right. Because you believe you have limitations, you have them. Your
beliefs create your reality.
If something in your life is painful or a problem, consider it an
invitation to examine your beliefs.
Whats causing pain in your life? Your beliefs.
Whats causing fear and doubt? Your beliefs.
What causes you to explode in anger at times? Your beliefs.
What causes you to react when things go wrong? Your beliefs.
What causes all the good stu in your life to happen? Your beliefs.
You accumulated tens of thousands of beliefs over your lifetime. Some
beliefs are useful and are very good for you. For example, the belief,
I can do anything I put my mind to, is a very positive inuence on your life.
It provides self-esteem, removes limitations, and encourages perseverance
until your goals are achieved. This is a belief you want to keep because it
serves your life. Dont throw away what works or what feels good! You are
always at choice in the BeliefCloset.
When you change your beliefs, you alter your experience of the world. At the
same time, you alter your view of yourself. Youll say, I feel like a dierent
person. And so you are.
When you question your long-held beliefs, real transformation becomes
possible. You open up to your essential, joyful nature. Each belief you dis-
create (delete, dissolve, destroy or disappear) frees you from your bad past
programming. Hindrances diminish. The barrier between you and what you
want becomes manageable. When you install newempowering beliefs,
everything will shift: your attitude, your posture, your demeanor, your
ability to express yourself, and the way you interact with others.
When you change your core beliefs, you relieve your own suering. You also
contribute in a direct way to relieving the suering of others. You become a
shining example of what is possible. You become a wiser, more loving person.
When you see that each person creates their own reality through their
beliefs, and that beliefs can be changed easily, your compassion for others
expands until it encompasses the whole world.

A Few Words About Affirmations
Have you ever tried saying armations? Armations are positive belief
statements that are used to change our attitude. They make us feel better
when we say them, but the eect doesnt last long. Saying armations
without rst deleting the old negative beliefs is like putting whipped cream
on top of moldy food to make it more palatable. If you dont clean out the old
beliefs before you install newones, youre just adding to a messy pile of
conicting beliefs in your subconscious mind. Instead, use the BeliefCloset

Lets Get Started!
If youre like most people, somewhere inside you is a subtle, uncomfortable
feeling about yourself. It may appear as a critical or nagging voice that
constantly tells you that youre not good enough, or that youre not doing
something right.
You suer fromone of the most pernicious and commonly held beliefs:
Theres something wrong with me.
Feel what it feels like to hold this belief. Say it to yourself: Theres something
wrong with me. Take a minute and really feel it, as if its 100% true right now.
Notice how it makes your body feel. Notice how you face the world when
you believe this belief. It feels uncomfortable. Bad. Yucky.
Now imagine what it would feel like if you could eliminate this belief from
your life. Completely and forever. How would that feel?
Youll have the opportunity to discard this belief in your sample BeliefCloset
Session. But rst choose a belief you would like to replace it with.
Again: whenever you eliminate, delete, or disappear a belief, you create a
clear space in your consciousness into which you can plant a new new belief
that will grow a healthier you.
If you delete the belief, Theres something wrong with me, you could replace
it with Theres nothing wrong with me, but that feels a bit defensive, doesnt
it? You could replace it with Theres something right with me. Thats better,
but its not very powerful. I suggest that you create a new belief thats
powerful one that creates the kind of feeling you want to have in your life.
What would you like to believe about yourself? Howwould you like to
feel about yourself?
Heres an experiment: Feel what it feels like to hold the belief, I ama sacred
and worthy being. Take a minute, close your eyes, say it to yourself right now.
Notice how it feels. Does it produce the kind of feeling youd like to walk
around in? If you like it, feel free to use it when you come to that part in the
exercise. Or, come up with another belief that is more right-for-you. Spend
a few minutes now, before your BeliefCloset Session, and decide what belief
youd rather have planted deep in your subconscious. Which belief will give
you the best feeling?
My clients, who are in recovery from addictions, have limiting beliefs that keep
them repeating self-sabotaging behaviors. Now Im using the BeliefCloset Process
to help them free themselves from those patterns.

When youre ready to begin, create a safe space where you wont be
interrupted for at least 30 minutes. Get into a comfortable position where
you can sit with your eyes closed and listen to the recording. Ill take you
through a sample BeliefCloset Session so you can replace that old belief with
your new one.

approval. This process utilizes visualization. It is not recommended for those who have had diculty discerning reality from non-reality. Do

After your BeliefCloset Session
Now that your new belief is planted in your subconscious, it will operate just
like your old belief did automatically, like a reality-creating machine. You
may notice a subtle shift in your waking life. Something uncomfortable that
was there is now gone. Something good has taken its place.
If you wish, you can anchor your new belief even more deeply. Heres one fun
way: go shopping for an article of clothing (or an entire outt), that reminds
you of your new Belief-outt. It might match the color, cut, material, or how
it felt against your skin. When you wear it in the real world, it will help you
remember and reinforce your new belief.
Whenever you nd yourself in a situation in which the old belief would have
come up, remember your new Belief-outt, and how you feel when you wear
it. For example: most people nd that talking to their mother reminds them
of the old belief, Theres something wrong with me. Before you talk to Mom,
see yourself wearing your new Belief-outt. Notice what a dierence it makes!

Now What?
Youve just gotten a taste of the power of the BeliefCloset Process. Of course,
in a pre-recorded session, we cant work with your personal beliefs, nor
can we customize the process for you and your life. This is just a sample of
whats possible.

Belief Self-Diagnosis
This exercise will help you expose your subconscious beliefs to your
conscious mind. At the end of the exercise, youll choose the beliefs you
want to change in your rst BeliefCloset Session.
Step 1: Uncover Your Beliefs
Youll need a pad of paper or journal. Contemplate each question below,
and write down every belief you can think of in each category.
Begin by saying to yourself, What I believe about myself is
Let your thoughts ow and keep your pen moving. Dont judge your beliefs,
argue with them, or censor them. Just allow whatever comes up to be
written down. Write down all of them, even if they sound stupid, strange, or
not really mine. When your subconscious talks, its a good time to listen. Give
yourself a few minutes to write freely on each question.
Answer as many questions as you can in one sitting. Come back later to
explore your remaining beliefs. Then, go on to Step 2.

Step 2: Understand Your Beliefs
Next, review your beliefs, and circle the ones that have had the most
negative impact on your life those beliefs that really get in your way and
keep you limited, small, and unhappy. On another sheet of paper, write each
belief, and then answer the following questions about each one:
Has this belief been benecial or detrimental to me in my life?
Was this belief indoctrinated into me? If so, by whom? Did I ever
consciously choose to believe it? If so, when? Why did I do so?
What has been the advantage of having this belief? How has it served
me in my life? What did I get or gain by having this belief? What did I
avoid by having this belief?
What would be dierent in my life if I held a dierent belief?
Would I be willing to try on a dierent belief? Who would I be without
this belief?
What belief could I replace it with that would be more positive,
benecial, and empowering in my life?
When you meet with your BeliefCloset Practitioner, youll use your answers to
customize your BeliefCloset Session to you and your life.
Step 3: Create NewBeliefs
Inside your BeliefCloset, youll have the opportunity to eliminate old beliefs
and create new, empowering beliefs in their place.
Your BeliefCloset Practitioner will work with you to rene your new beliefs so
they t and serve you in the best way possible. Creating new beliefs is a skill
that improves with practice. As your new beliefs begin to operate, your True
Self and your full magnicance will shine forth in the world.
