Democracy is when people vote for their government. For a president and for a prime minister. The countries of democracy dont always need a president or prime minister but they need at least one of them There are 2 different kinds of democracy direct and representative democracy.
Direct Democracy
Direct Democracy is an ancient greek way. Its when the government lets the citizens vote straight on an issue and any free man who likes the idea can vote for it.
Representative Democracy
Representative democracy is what most countries have today. This type of government is where you vote in it, but once you vote the president and prime minister you dont get as much control.
Dictatorship
Dictatorship is when one person is in control most of the time. Its rare that a dictator becomes power hungry and kills people to gain power, but it might happen. Most of the time the Military works for the dictator.
Monarchy
Monarchy is when the king or queen is in charge. When the king or queen dies then the oldest child of the king or queen takeover, but there are stricter punishments.
Anarchy
Anarchy is when no one is in charge and you dont own anything you can just stay home and eat ice cream all day long but you dont own anything so once you run out of ice cream you wont have where to buy it.
