Queen Anne style house plans are an mixture of country house and Elizabethan cottage architecture blended with Tudor, Gothic, English Renaissance, and American Colonial styles
There are different Queen Anne styles such as British 19 century Queen Anne styles, American Queen Anne style, and Australian Queen Anne style.

Fish scales are a hallmark of Queen Anne style houses built from 1880 to 1910, wood shingles shaped like fish scales often decorated gables and dormers. Queen Anne houses have fish scales and square cut. Some times they have both. Shingles protect sloping rooftops from the effects of rain, snow and hail It also makes the house look good. Shingles can be made from asphalt, wood, fiberglass, ceramic or metal

A shallow porch that circles around two or more sides of a house The Queen Anne style normally has a covered porch that often wraps around one or two sides. The porch is important because it creates a large space for family and friends to enjoy the outdoors.
