Intro to Clan Wars

Clan Wars is a battle between two similarly matched Clans. Clans Wars does not affect Multiplayer gameplay. Trophies, Loot and Shields remain unaffected by Clan Wars gameplay. It is essential that clan members work together in order to have the greatest opportunity for victory. Communication and clan coordination can have a greater effect on victory than individual troop strength.

Matchmaking
Clans are matched based on base strength and number of Clan members. Base strength is determined by building levels, walls, army camp levels, barracks levels, spells available, traps available and hero available. An aggregate of all eligible clan members are taken into account and a score is determined. Clans will be matched with another clan that have a similar amount of members and a similar score. Trophy count is not considered. Clans are matched in increments of 5. If there are 38 members, only 35 will be able to battle. The odd members out will be determined by Trophy count. The members with the lowest Trophy count will not be eligible.

Rules
Clan Wars is broken down into a two day event. Day one is preparation and day two is battle. Each clan member can attack twice but, cannot attack the same enemy two times. Clans Wars does not affect Multiplayer gameplay. Trophies, Loot and Shields remain unaffected by Clan Wars gameplay. Attackers have an advantage of being able to scout the enemy bases prior to initiating any attack. This can be done by clicking on Scout while in the war map. Additionally, you can click on the Blue star at the top of the war map and visit the players base in Multiplayer. The winning clan will be the clan that has the greatest amount of stars at the conclusion of the war. In the event of a tie, Loot Bonus will be awarded to both clans with a slight reduction. * It is important to understand that only the best attack counts for each base. Meaning if someone gets a 2 star on a base and you attack the same base and get 1 star. Your star will not count. If you attacked this base that someone 2 stared already and you 3 star the base, 2 stars will be counterfeited and you will only get credit for 1 star.

Objectives
Clan Wars is a battle between two similarly matched Clans. Each clan member can attack twice but, cannot attack the same enemy two times. Clans Wars does not affect Multiplayer gameplay. Trophies, Loot and Shields remain unaffected by Clan Wars gameplay.

Bonus Loot Calculation

Bonus Loot amount is determined by the strength of the defense of the base you attack. This is similar to the loot penalty or loot bonus in Multiplayer calculation. You will receive the full amount of the listed Bonus Loot if you win the battle and your clan is victorious. A win is when you receive at least one star. You do not need to get 3 stars to in order to collect 100% of the bonus. If you win one or more battles and your clan loses you will receive a much smaller Loot Bonus than if your clan wins the war.

Strategy
Clan Wars is a battle between two similarly matched Clans. Each clan member can attack twice but, cannot attack the same enemy two times. Clans Wars does not affect Multiplayer gameplay. Trophies, Loot and Shields remain unaffected by Clan Wars gameplay. Donating Troops - Only donate the troops that are requested and when you request, make sure you specify specific troops. Only you know what troops will defend your base setup and only you know what compliments your attack troops. Do not leave your request in the default format. Base Setup The goal is to protect yourself from getting 3-stared. Your TH is worth 1 star, 50% of your buildings destroyed is worth 1 star and 100% destruction is worth 1 star. In Clan Wars, your number one priority is protecting your TH. Once Clan Wars starts you can move your multiplayer base back to how you want it without having it alter your Clan War base. Who to Attack? -The goal of Clan Wars is to accumulate more stars than the opposing clan. The position of your base on the War map is in direct relation to the strength of your troops (barracks level) and your base. The same is true for the opposing clan. There will be a recommended target highlighted. This would be the base with the closest overall score to your base and level. You are not required to attack this base. Choose a base in your range that you believe you can 3 star or 2 star. Preparation - Scout potential bases to attack and share information with other clan mates. Determine your attack method and if you are attacking in Multiplayer while waiting for Clan Wars, practice your attack on similar bases. Order of Attack Unlike Multiplayer, Clan Wars requires that we work as a cohesive team. The players at the bottom of the War map will attack first and we will proceed in ascending order. Due to the fact that not all players can coordinate attack times, this will be adhered to as best as possible. Bases that are in the bottom third of the War map will attack first. Once the majority have completed their first attack, the middle third can start their attack and so on.

Basic Tips and Tricks

Try to attack a base that has not been attacked yet. If you attack a base that someone else has attacked before you, make sure you watch the replay before your attack. Make a note of traps, bomb placement, Clan Castle troops and anything else that can help you succeed. You can also choose to visit the village and view the base in Multiplayer world. Always activate the King and the Queen and dispose of them prior to starting your main attack. Equally important is drawing out the Clan Castle troops and dealing with them early. One method is to draw them out to the edge of the map away from defenses and surround them with barbs or lightning spell them. Conversely, if the Clan Castle is in the center near the TH, you can use the CC troops as a magnet to draw your troops into the center core. Just make sure you can overpower them. In most cases it is preferable to save your hero until later in the battle. If you place a new weapon on your map prior to the declaration of war that weapon becomes available on the Clan War base even before it is available on the Multiplayer base. Take the time to watch the battles. Maybe you will learn something that can use in your battles. Watch how the AI affects different troops actions and paths taken. Maybe you will spot something that your clan mates can improve on. If done correctly, your clan mates will probably appreciate the constructive criticism.
