The Director of Program Development is responsible for developing strategies and tactics that will contribute significantly to Veterans housing and Employment Assistance (VHEA) s programs and guide and inspire the organization, its members, its stakeholders, and all of its clients to fully participate in co creating a brighter future. Primary goals include:

Exploring and evaluating ways to expand or modify current programs and to create new programs, so that they reflect the mission and values of VHEAs. Exploring potential partners for both funding and program implementation. Examining, evaluating, in-depth research, and investigation of programs offered by other organizations, including nonprofits and governments that can be beneficial to both VHEA and the communities that it serves. Managing the development of innovative betterments, technological changes, and implement strategies to improve the quality of the programs and the efficiency and effectiveness of VHEA as a whole.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Developing and, in coordination with other appropriate directors, implementing new and expanded programs and budgets. Building and overseeing relationships with potential program development and program implementation partners. Working on strategic planning and implementation of those plans in coordination with other directors at VHEA. Building relationships both nationally and internationally with organizations and government agencies engaged in activities that are aligned with the work of VHEA. Supervising the implementation of technological changes in VHEA, such as the improvement of the database, so that the organizations operations are more effective and efficient. Managing outside consultants and contractors who might be involved in any of the above processes. Supervising the IS Manager, the Manager of Program Evaluation and the Webmaster, if hired. Working with program managers in preparing program development reports, including budgets, for Board meetings. Contributing opinions and ideas, and participating in VHEAs meetings. Working collaboratively with others to complete projects and achieve goals. Providing counsel and assistance to VHEAs staff on matters related to program development and outside sources of funding for projects. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Board.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 10 years of experience as project/program architect.

Minimum of 10 years of experience as senior management, ideally in a nonprofit organization. Minimum of 10 years of experience as experience with higher education, secondary, and primary education. Minimum of 10 years of experience as experience working with government, corporate, foundation and individual donors and/or program partners. Minimum of 10 years of experience in creating strategic alliances/partnerships between nonprofit organizations, foundations, governments, and higher, secondary, and primary education. Significant fundraising experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills (Bi-lingual in English and Spanish). Willingness to dedicate himself/herself mission and objectives. Collaborative style, detail-oriented, and should enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously. Social economic development expert Focus on workforce development to help facilitate systems/processes integration as a necessary component for employing people. Provide training and technical assistance on social economic development/rehabilitation with systems transformation and recovery-based employment/entrepreneurship, both nationally and internationally Author of numerous publications and curricula.
