Introduction Some of the students having problem in pronouncing phoneme /r/.

Among the primary school students, especially chinese student will facing the trouble in pronouncing this phoneme. Usually they will pronounce wrongly by pronouncing /l/ instead of /r/. The cause of this problem is usually because of the chinese accents. In chinese accent, they usually do not distinguish between phoneme /r/ and /l/. What will happen is, the students will mi the pronunce of phoneme /r/ and /l/ and create the confusion from the correct pronunciation. Another cause of this problem is the student have a disease at one of the articulatory organ that is called cleft palate. !hildren with cleft palate will have air passage on the above of the tounge that will ma"e the pronunciation of /r/ will sound incorrect. In order to help this "ind of student, a series of teaching and learning activites had been designed that come along with interactive teaching aids. These activity is very suitable for student especially primary school student as it is colourful and user friendly. This activities are designed according to #uraian Su"atan $ela%aran Tahun & under learning outcomes of spea"ing s"ill.
